Welcome to our Barrio Santa Rosa Dream: a lovingly and artfully restored historic mexican mud adobe from 1889/1902.
We are a couple of artists who have been inhabiting this space for the past 12 years and we have been working on making this our desert city oasis in the heart of Tucson, in Barrio Santa Rosa.
Come in and enjoy this authentic slice of Downtown Tucson life, surrounded by verdant desert flora and a few minutes walk from some of the trendiest spots in town.
This is an historic Barrio adobe and as such, room layout is a bit different than what you might expect: we have the original home divided in 3 rooms that are contiguous to each other ‘shotgun’ style, therefore one has to walk through each room to get to kitchen and bathroom - privacy wasn’t a thing in the past so there’s that! Rooms are divided by sarapes for visual privacy so think about this space as being most suitable for couples/small families/three good friends.
The entire home (the east side of the duplex) is yours.
The outside is shared with us but we will mostly stay out of your way when possible so you can make the most of the beautiful yard. You will have access to the east front patio, the yard flagstone patio with firepit (ask us if you’d like a fire), the picnic table and chiminea (available upon request), the ‘carport’ covered patio adjacent to your entrance. Lots of options to sit and eat/drink outside and enjoy our beautiful Arizona winter weather.
Our neighborhood, Barrio Santa Rosa, is just south of downtown and attached to famously picturesque Barrio Viejo with some of the most chic bars and restaurants, walk to 5 Points Market/Cafe' and wonder-filled local boutique BON, stroll around Armory Park's historic and verdant bungalows, explore the lively Mercado San Agustin and its Annex filled with fun local boutiques and cafes. Fun areas to walk and bike to with plenty of options to enjoy yourself nearby.
The best part about our place is that while you are minutes from trendy cafes, bars, boutiques and the hustle and bustle of Congress Street downtown, you feel like you are far away from it all, in a green desert oasis, peaceful and relaxing, while staying in a place that's steeped in history and art and completely unique.
