About this property

Blue Heron Nest Lake Cabin Retreat

BOAT ACCESS ONLY
This boat access only cabin is both tranquil and unique. Sitting up at the end of Blue Heron Bay, this cabin offers serene and breathtaking views of South Tenmile Lake. The large spacious deck offers panoramic views from the outside as does the large bay windows from within. Blue Heron Bay offers great views, relaxation, wildlife, fishing, and lake enjoyment. If you and your family are looking to getaway, this cabin will offer you great memories.
*BOAT ACCESS ONLY*
This cabin is accessible by boat only:
If Renting a Boat:
Rent a boat at Lakeside Marina. Lakeside Marina provides different sized boats and cost will be determined based on boat selected. Contact the marina directly or go to their website to view options and pricing. Please arrive early enough to unload and be ready to disembark from marina to the cabin, which is about 5 minutes from the marina, prior to dark. The lake gets rather dark at night. Park your car inside the gate at the marina. Parking is first come, so if parking is full then you'll need to park outside their gate on the street. If your party has more than 1 car then all other cars need to be parked on the street outside their gate. We've parked our own cars on the street in Lakeside numerous times without any issues. Moor your boat in our 2 bay boathouse for convenience or moor it to the side of the dock. If renting a Pontoon boat, it will need to be moored to the dock as it wouldn't fit in the boathouse.
If arriving via Lake Taxi:
Lakeside Marina also provides a lake taxi service. Call the marina for current pricing. Reservations must be made with the marina directly and we encourage your reservation be made once the cabin reservation is confirmed. This way you'll be sure to be on their schedule. Be sure and arrive with plenty of time to unload and load the taxi as the lake taxi only operates from dusk till dawn. Park your car inside the gate, parking is first come, so if parking is full then you'll need to park outside their gate on the street. If your party has more than 1 car then all other cars need to be parked on the street outside their gate. We've parked our own cars on the street in Lakeside numerous times without any issues.
If bringing your own boat:
You can use the County Park in lakeside to launch your boat. You can also park your vehicle within the County Park for $3 a night. Be sure to arrive with plenty of time to unload and arrive at the cabin prior to dark. The lake gets rather dark at night. Moor your boat in our 1 bay boathouse for convenience or moor it to the side of the dock. If arriving via a Pontoon boat, it will need to be moored to the dock as it wouldn't fit in the boathouse.
There is a long non-slip ramp leading from the dock to the cabin. Please use caution when climbing the ramp and use the handrails. Steepness of the ramp differs based on the lake water level.
Cabin does come fire pit along with wood to burn. However, please keep in mind you are boat access only and not in close proximity to a fire station; keep flames controlled. During summer months Lakeside may impose a fire ban and thus fire pit will not be available for use.
Cabin is located in what is called Blue Heron Bay. The bay is quiet and provides lots of bird and other wildlife sightings. Bears also frequent the property. When going outside make some loud noises to ensure they know you're there. We have never had any issues with bears, but always good to let them know you're there.
Be sure to grab your food or groceries before disembarking to the cabin. There is a McKay's in town with a good selection of food. There are also a few restaurants to choose from.
Be sure to bring your sunglasses and sunscreen! In the evening sit out on the deck and watch the amazing sunsets or sit in the Livingroom and look out on the lake through the huge bay windows.
Cabin has 2 bedrooms with queen size beds. There is also a queen size pullout in the living room.
There is a full kitchen with microwave, stove, oven, toaster, griddle, refrigerator, filtered water (cold & hot), drip coffee. Kitchen comes with dish, cook, and glass wear as well as utensils.
There is a flat screen TV in the living room which includes a Blu-Ray player with access to NetFlix and Amazon (using your own account). A small selection of DVDs is also included, a small selection of board games as well.
Be sure to bring your fishing pole and pickup desired bate and any other gear at Lakeside Marina as well as any required fishing licenses.
Life jackets are required to be worn by children under the age of 13 while on or near the water (dock) at all times.
Cabin pulls water from the lake and is filtered. We recommend not to drink the water from the tap but can be used for cooking if boiled. Cabin is equipped with a filtered water dispenser for drinking.
Cabin is heated using base board heating.
Cabin utilizes a septic tank. Nothing other than toilet paper is to be flushed down the toilets. If an emergency Roto Rooter is required, there may be an additional charge.
Wi-fi is provided, so bring any other streaming/connected devices.
