About this property

Remote Lakefront Cabin on North Tenmile Lake

Adventure awaits in this remote retreat. This secluded lake front cabin boasts a private dock and kayak for 2. Enjoy the great out doors: fishing, boating, and kayaking along with the luxuries of a king bed, wood stove, high speed wifi, smart TV, and hot shower. Cook your catch of the day on the propane grill. Stargaze from the dock, or snuggle up and stream a movie from the smart TV. Or come solo and write your novel in peaceful solitude.
Kayak for your use!
There is a steep staircase from the dock to the cabin.

**Please note: if you wish to bring your own boat, you will need to launch it at the local marina and boat in. There is not a boat launch available at the cabin. We don't recommend bringing any kind of trailer because there is not a good turn around spot and you could get stuck**

Fishing permits may be obtained at the marina or online. BYO fishing pole.

Cabin does have a "lake" smell to it because of proximity to water and dampness. We have an air purifier in the cabin as well.
I do not live on the lake but am available to answer questions and help with your experience. We also have a local manager who does live close by should anything come up.
In the 1930’s and ‘40’s, Lakeside was a known retreat for Hollywood’s rich and famous. Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Charles Laughton, Sidney Greenstreet, opera singer Lilly Pons, the Ink Spots as well as the Sons of the Pioneers are just a few of the names that have appeared in various newsprint through the years as visitors to Lakeside.

This area is very popular for Bass fishing and water skiing. Located near Sand Dunes National Rec Area, Sea Lion Caves, and other Oregon Coast attractions.
Guests will have entire cabin and dock to themselves.
Kayak is permitted, and for guest use. Life jackets are provided.
The rustic nostalgic charm of the Pacific NW abounds in this quintessential American lakefront cabin.

Long private single lane gravel road to access. 4 wheel drive is NOT needed.
Car or boat access. map apps do not give accurate route. You will receive driving directions in check in info.
Tandem Kayak for your use. Bring your own boat, rent a boat from Lakeside Marina, or utilize the marinas water taxi service.

Clean and Quiet
Clean throughout. Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of towels. Very comfy bed. Other than a couple of small boats on the lake it was absolutely quiet. Driving to get there is a bit of an adventure; would recommend you get there before it gets dark. We would stay here again.

Nice place
The cabin is wonderful. The owners obviously take very good care of it. Our particular problems were all our own fault and I believe that someone who knows exactly what they are getting into would have a great time. The cabin is basically on the side of a hill leading down to the lake. You have to walk down steep stairs to get to the lake. (I thought we'd just walk out the door and it would be there). I have bad knees so I could not go to the lake. I spent the whole time in the cabin. My husband is in good shape and going up the stairs really wore him out. The fish WERE NOT biting - at all. He did like the kayak. The house was always in the shade, so we had the heater on though it was summer. I actually enjoyed my time there somewhat, having some peace and quiet, but there wasn't a lot to do. The absolute worst part was the parking situation. You cannot turn around. It's also pretty spooky backing up a windy one lane dirt road on the side of a mountain. Take a small car. The cabin was at the end. They mentioned this in the ad, but it did not prepare us for what a challenge this would be. When my husband backed into the neighbor's driveway to do a Y the neighbor ran out yelling at us. After that we decided not to leave the property again. It was so much trouble getting out, we went home early because we felt stuck. This was a nice cabin. The owners were terrific. If I were them, I would sell this place and buy one with easier access to the lake and the road.

The good, the bad and the ugly
We came to celebrate my 77th birthday and to fish. I bought a license for this trip, as I was in between chemo treatments. If we had known the dock was many flights of steep stairs away, we would never have booked. We made 2 trips down, our dog slipped on the stairs and hurt her leg so we skipped the fishing afterwards. Perhaps it would be less deceptive to post pictures of the steep steps instead of 8 pictures of fake plants, books, toiletries, the Dutch oven and the hair dryer. Single ply toilet tissue in a narrow bathroom. One hand towel. The King bed was fairly comfortable, pillows not so much, hot water with good pressure, careful not to scald yourself! Quiet setting, clean.

Peaceful and secluded!
Our stay was great. Went for my partner's birthday weekend and took our medium sized dog. Weather was awesome and we really enjoyed the views from the cabin, upper decks, and down on the dock. Fishing and kayaking was fun. There are a few motor boats and jetski/wave runners about here and there but overall its very quiet and calm. The road access is a little more remote and adventurous than we expected so we were glad we we brought all our food and beverages with us so we could just relax and didn't go into town once. Other than food, the kicthen and cabin had all the equipment and basic supplies we needed. There are a lot of steep steps down to the dock which could be challenging if you aren't in decent shape. We loved it and would definitely come back.
