Cleanliness and finishing did not match view
At first impression, we were very impressed with the view and home. At second glance, the home was dirty and the finishings were completed pretty poorly. The biggest issue with us was the cleanliness of the dishes. We had to hand wash every dish because each dish either was badly stained, dusty, or had remains of food. We love to cook and the utensils and essentials in the kitchen were lacking. For example, no strainer for pasta, no olive oil, no foil, or any other type of cooking accompaniment. The pots, pans, and other basics were fine, though, for people that want to make the basics. The only blinds in the entire home were in the master bedroom. There were no blinds in the second bedroom, so our parents woke up very early. In the summer, I cannot imagine the heat with no AC and no blinds to block the sun. The property was pretty poorly kept as well. We ended up weeding some of the weeds growing on the patio (it was overgrown). You will also need to bring yo ur own towels if you want more than one towel and/or different towels for the hot tub. The towels were also stained and dirty Overall, I know I concentrated on the negatives, but this property has a lot of potential if the owners invested minimally on other basics. Absolutely needed to be cleaned, blinds, and investment in the kitchen supplies.

Tons of potential
Great view, quiet location and lovely town. I want to love it but the lack of attention to detail (trash left from prior renter, greasy finger prints on chairs, hot tub cover not secure) and hodgepodge feel to home repairs (lack of flooring transition boards and masking tape while painting) made it a diamond in the rough experience.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in
Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
This house wasn’t ready to be rented
We arrived and were disappointed to find out the hot tub was not operational. When I reached out about the hot tub not working, I was told it wasn’t an amenity of the house. However the listing for the rental says it a dog friendly, Lakeview home with hot tub and there are pictures of the hot tub in the listing. Then the shower in the master bedroom did not work. We never got any water to come out. The final issue for us was that the heat wasn’t working. Someone from the property management group came to check on the heat but couldn’t get it working either. We decided to cut our trip short a day. I was told I would get a call from the local property manager, but did not hear from anyone. It was too bad. The house has potential and think it will be a good rental in the future, but it wasn’t ready for our visit this time.
