As a former fisherman's cottage, we were sympathetic to its age and character when we renovated and decorated it yet it has all the advantages of modern living - wi-fi, Smart tv, great central heating, and double glazing.
The cottage is our family holiday home and we use it regularly: this makes it very homely and we know from experience that it has everything you could need for a really comfortable, relaxing holiday. There is a wood burning stove in the living room which is ideal on cooler Scottish summer evenings, and we love lighting it. The kitchen is well equipped, the furniture is robust and comfortable, there are quality linens on the beds, and lovely pure cotton towels in the bathroom. The walk-in shower is huge - I can get all three grandkids in at once!
We love holidaying in Cellardyke as there is so much to do! The Coastal Path runs right past the front door, there is a kayaking and canoeing school about 500 metres away and also a kiddies play park at the same place. Wild swimming, either in the harbour or at the tidal pool, is a very popular way to start the day in Cellardyke. St. Andrews, with all its shops, pubs, restaurants and sights, is about 20 minutes away and there are also all of the other quaint East Neuk towns to explore.
