CLOSED. Please check out our new property: SEQUOIA FALLS #4576891
As seen in Sunset magazine, Wall Street Journal and the New York Times!
Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright student, Frank Robert, Kaweah Falls is a modern rustic retreat home tucked away at the base of the Sequoia National Park in the cozy Sierra Nevada mountain town of Three Rivers, CA—an easy 3.5 hrs. from LA, 4.5 hrs from SF, and 1+ hr from Fresno Yosemite International airport.
A finalist in Dwell magazine's 2010 'Houses We Love' competition, the home bridges a regulated water flume leading to a private sandy beach and a year-round active waterfall. While sipping wine at the bar you can watch rainbow trout swimming below through a glass-bottomed floor.
This one of-a-kind vacation home makes the ultimate escape from the city, the ideal writer's retreat (finally finish that novel or screenplay) or simply a place to recharge, far away from the hustle and bustle
Plan your escape to Sequoia!: Kaweah Falls is the ultimate base camp for your exploration of the Sequoia National Park.
(from Visit Sequoia website) 'California's Sequoia National Park is an unspoiled treasure of some of the most striking scenery in the world. From its towering giant sequoia trees and soaring mountain peaks to cascading creeks, flowering meadows, and star-studded evening skies, you'll be inspired by this breathtaking national forest vacation destination.
Established in 1890, and recently featured in the Ken Burns PBS documentary 'The National Parks: America's Best Idea', Sequoia National Park is California's first national park and America's second oldest. With more than 1 million annual visitors, Sequoia National Forest is a popular destination for guests from around the world.
At Sequoia and Kings Canyon national parks, you’ll find the five largest living giant sequoia trees in the world.'
Come see the largest living tree on Earth! : The General Sherman tree is estimated to be between 2300-2700 years old, and if you've never seen it, a day trip is a must. (Kaweah Falls is located 2 miles from the entrance to Sequoia Park.)
'Often referred to as one of California's best national forest family vacation destinations, Sequoia offers a myriad of year-round visitor attractions and recreational activities. Spring and summer offer sensational hiking, horseback riding, fishing, and cave tours. Winter boasts some of the finest cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snow play to be found in the Sierras. And throughout the year, Sequoia National Forest features ranger naturalist programs, nature walks, visitor centers, and interpretive museum exhibits to please all ages and interests.'
Experience the magic of Kaweah Falls: After you've enjoyed a memorable picnic amongst the towering Sequoias in the Giant Forest, climbed the steps to the soaring peak of Moro Rock (where you can see Russia!), and strolled through Crescent Meadow and likely spotted black bears grazing, then it's time to come down the mountain where your luxury compound awaits: cook out on the grill, enjoy a nice bottle of wine, and roast S'mores around he campfire.
After marveling at all the stars (more than you've likely seen before), retire to your cozy chambers and let the waterfall lull you into a restful sleep. For adventure seekers, white water rafting in Three Rivers is world-class (May-July); or if your idea of adventure involves a hammock and a good book, you'll be right at home. If you plan your visit in late summer, there's no better place to take a dip than Kaweah Falls. And if you're one that likes to get away, but just can't disconnect, not to worry: you can check email and surf the internet from your private river deck.
