About this property
Secluded waterfront cabin w/ private dock & ramp!
Whether you’re traveling to hunt, fish, or simply escape from daily life, make ‘The Boathouse’ your next home away from home. The Boathouse is recently renovated and well equipped. It offers on-site access to the Pungo River and Intracoastal Waterway. Sip your morning coffee on the deck or patio, then utilize the private boat ramp and head out on the water. Following your outdoor adventure, gather around the fire pit for s’mores and relish a beautiful sunset.
The space:
The Boathouse features a 1-bedroom, 1-bath apartment above the garage space. The apartment features a cozy living area with a queen sleeper sofa and flat-screen TV, a well-equipped kitchen, dining area, a full bathroom, and master bedroom with walk-in closet. The bedroom also contains a flat screen smart TV. The Boathouse is themed to match its natural surroundings, with fishing, hunting, and sailing decorations throughout. The balcony has beautiful water views along with table/chairs and a large grill.
The entrance to the Boathouse is through the double doors in the center bay of the garage, which has a table/chairs and couch that is available for guests to use. Just up the stairs on the way to the apartment is the laundry area.
There is a hammock available near the waterfront, and also a firepit area with Adirondack chairs near the waterfront. The private dock and boat ramp are also available for guests to use during their stay.
The views from the dock of the sunset over the water can't be beat.
Guest access:
Guests have access to the Boathouse apartment, balcony, patio, center bay of the garage, parking areas, and all of the waterfront amenities (dock, boat ramp, hammock, fire pit area, etc).
Other things to note:
The local area is great for boating, fishing, hunting, kayaking, bird watching, or reading your favorite book. The property is located on a protected creek just off the Pungo River & ICW. By boat, it's approximately 7 miles to Belhaven, NC.
Bring food with you. Hyde County is one of the most remote counties in North Carolina and you will be staying approximately 25 minutes from the nearest grocery store.
The Mattamuskeet National Wildlife Refuge is about 25 minutes away, and the Swan Quarter/Ocracoke ferry terminal is about 20 mins away.

Hosted by Ralph Williams

Hi, I'm Ralph Williams. My wife and I have two beautiful girls. We love to travel, hike, and spend as much time as possible in the outdoors and out on the water. I'm originally from Scranton, NC and moved away for work many years ago to the Clemson, SC area.
We recently turned our little home away from home, The Boathouse, into a short term rental so that others could get to experience the peace and beauty of being on the waterfront in Hyde County. Whether you’re traveling to hunt, fish, or simply escape from daily life, it's hard to beat the serenity that The Boathouse offers. We certainly love it and hope you do to!

Why they chose this property
We purchased this property, The Boathouse, because after lots of travelling we realized that very few places in the world offer the nearly untouched naturally beautiful of the waterfront in Hyde County.
Whenever we're at the property, we spend lots of time on the water and love to explore the area by boat, in addition to fishing, tubing, swimming, etc. Belhaven, NC is about 7 miles away by boat.

What makes this property unique
The property consists of 13+ acres, multiple ponds, and is very secluded. It'll feel like you've got the whole area to yourself. The only other folks you'll see are the occasional fisherman crabbing or fishing in the creek. There are tons of wildlife on the property and you're likely to see many deer and waterfowl roaming the property. The property has a private dock and boat ramp and sits on a protected creek just off the Pungo River and Intracoastal Waterway. The sunset views from the dock can't be beat!
