About the host
Hosted by Colette H Price

We reside and work in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. Friends of ours; also working & residing in TB area, own property in NC area. We frequently would come up to NC to their property & discovered we loved the area of Bryson City (known as the gateway to the Smokey Mountains).
Why they chose this property
We wanted property that offered a remote enough location that we could truly feel as thou we 'got away' yet, not 'too far' if we needed to run to the store, wanted an easy drive to numerous different attractions or gosh forbid, needed any medical services (15 minutes).
Our corner piece of land is almost 5 acres & has Grassy Branch Stream running thru it. Located in Swain County we are situated in Bryson City just 10 minutes from the Alarka Marina, 11 from local grocery/'Ingles' & 14 minutes from Bryson City Main Street/The Great Smokey Mountain Railroad.
Because it offers privacy yet, easy access to a variety of activities & things to do. (i.e.: Hiking the Appalachian trail, or local waterfalls in area, sighting nature & wildlife, exploring local history like "The Road to No Where", checking out the NOC, visiting the Alarka Marina, or lighting a fire to have smores), our property offers a convenient yet somewhat private location by which we can later expand upon & hopefully gather with more friends & family in the future.

What makes this property unique
We are located on a corner of Grassy Branch Road and own 4.67 acres. Conveniently located to many attractions & things to do. Our cozy park model home, which we refer to as our 'cottage' has all the amenities needed to spend a weekend or so away, comfortably.
With a decent sized smart TV, Wi-Fi/Internet, sleeping arrangements for 4, land enough to walk around & explore, our cottage is outfitted with most dish/cook/bake/drink-ware & utensils needed, or one could want, to prepare meals. Along with comfortable dining seating & enough indoor cards/games/puzzles & coloring books to keep you entertained in inclement weather, we hope it keeps you entertained as it does us. A Viking 3 person Hot Tub was installed April 2024, we maintain it at 99 degrees for guests arrival. Additionally, on the opposite side of our tiny cottage of the hot tub is an entertainment area which hosts a cemented permanent 'park-type' grill along with a couple chairs and a fire pit & picnic table.
On this particular property is not only a stream of grassy branch that runs thru it; it has enough space to add a couple more homes down the road. So far we have only seen the stream during the dry or off months (Dec- April) but, there's enough water to hear it from house (when hot tubs not running). However, in the spring & summer months the stream does get bigger and more pronounced. Surrounded by forsynthia, wild roses, wild onions. cucumber magnolia, dogwood tree & an abundance of other flora; we love the area & feel it is beautiful. Our dog - Reno loves it too!☀️
We envision family/friend gatherings sometime in the future. But for now, when we do get to visit, we feel like we've spent time in nature and any work we do feels 'good'. We wanted to offer our little oasis to others to enjoy & hope you'll find the area as intriguing as we do. Please take the opportunity to venture to the upper pad area where we have a 2nd tiny home we just got set in May. We're hoping to get this up and running soon.
