About this property

Getaway to the country, yet close to it all! This Amish themed home was built by the Amish church for a widow. It is in the heart of Amish Country, Northern Indiana. Close to Middlebury, and Shipshewana Amish Country. Almost everything in the home was Amish made or comes from an Amish store, sale or our own Amish family. This place is unique in that you can sit in a rocker on the front porch just 28 steps to where the buggies pass, and watch Amish families live out their amazing normal daily activities. Surrounded by farmland, this is a peaceful retreat from the day to day busyness of life. You will be welcomed with a sweet homemade Amish sweet and fresh farm eggs and butter. Goshen, Middlebury, Elkhart, Notre Dame are all within close driving range. Includes a fire pit and paver brick seating area and wood.
Sit on the front porch and watch the buggies go by! Hear the roosters in the morning as and visit with the donkey's and cattle. Such a sweet unique place with simple pleasures all around it, get back to the country! The perfect place to relax and unplug. This is for the whole House!

Amish experience

We came to this house for an over night stay with a girls trip to Shipshewana. It was clean, cute, and many memories were made. The area was quiet and the house had a great home feel to it. Thanks for a great stay!!

The Perfect Stay

This was exactly what we wanted. Beautiful house. In the heart of Indiana Amish Country. Quiet, peaceful, and relaxing stay. Loved waking up in the morning with a hot coffee on the porch swing watching the Amish horse and buggies go by. Loved watching the sunrise at the pasture fence with the livestock. Property was very clean and pleasant. The hosts were incredibly friendly. We are a family of 8 and we were very comfortable in the house. The whole family had a great time and are already asking to go back to this house. We were really blessed by the hosts and their property!

Why they chose this property

I love this neighborhood! That is why we choose to live here has well, the peace and quiet! Close to the Pumpkinvine trail and close to wonderful towns like Shipshewana, yet totally in the country. It is a mostly AMish neighborhood, when this house came up for sale we knew we wanted to have a hosted home here.

What makes this property unique

The property is surrounded by farm animals. Horses, goats, sheep, cattle and donkeys. The Amish farm across the street hosts chickens and an occasional roaster. The Amish are quiet neighbors. The housekeeper is Amish and bakes sweet treats to welcome you. We have a wall of hats where you can try on AMish men's hats. We also display woman's prayer coverings for you to see.
