The host was very responsive during the interaction, and was very flexible regarding the pet policy which was great. Unfortunately due to the amount of personal items in the rental we cancelled our trip early.

Please tell me what personal items offended you. There are no personal items in the upper studio that you slept in. There are a few photos in the master bedroom on shelving, and some clothing stashed in the closet and one drawer, that is not visible tk guests. There is food for guests to use in the kitchen and some in refrig That I cannot toss overtime I have a guest. I am trying to provide things that guests may have forgotten or need. I'm not sure why these "personal items would be an issue. I keep food there as a convenience to the guest. This should not be a reason tk not pay for part of hour stay. P.S. all bath items are there for you as well. They are not "personal" but for guests. I think you have over reacted at my kindness for providing these items.
The location of this home as well as the home itself is more than perfect for enjoying Port Austin and the surrounding area. The host just needs to be a bit more aware of securing her personal belongings so the home is more "welcoming" to those renting it for their vacation. Overall, though, it was a great weekend.
After a bumpy start, we enjoyed our stay at this property; good location to Beach walk, marina, restaurants and shops, and Saturday’s Farmer’s Market. I think that the owner should have less personal and refrigerated items out. Since Covid, nobody wants to use items that have been opened by someone else. Very cute renovated farmhouse decor.

Why they chose this property
My neighborhood is generally quiet, With the exception of porch fest and 4th of July. Many friendly home owners. We are just steps away from Lake Huron the farmers market. Shopping and great nightlife. No need to drive anywhere!
What makes this property unique
My property is unique because it's small and intimate, yet open and roomy. You will see photos and art work that is both personal and scenic. I always keep coffee and a variety of teas available for guests. Guests are always welcome to use condiments or anything else in the kitchen. We usually have popcorn, coffee creamer and other things most people don't bring with them. For your use. Includes paper plates, Napkins. Etc.
