This is my fourth time back to pelican point. Got to meet Calvin and his wife several years ago. I love the seclusion and the area. I will definitely be coming back.

Amazing vacation spot!
House was clean, comfortable, relaxing, etc. It is located on a beautiful beach. We enjoyed talking with the locals, snorkeling, sun bathing, and even a little island hopping via the ferry. We will definitely be returning!

We appreciate you and are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us! It was a pleasure working with you and we look forward to you returning to Paradise @ Pelican Point again in the near future! Thank you!
My wife and I stayed here for almost a week and could not have loved it more. The house is beautiful and has everything you could need. The owners are easy to get ahold of and the local caretaker Danny checks in daily. Paradise.

Hi Julie,
Thanks so much for that glowing review! We really appreciate it and love to have you rent.
Thanks again,
Karen
House was perfect with all that you need. Very secluded beach. Danny was wonderful. The restaurant was wonderful. Be mindful of sandfleas and sandflies. They can hurt. Bring bug spray. The Solomon’s grocery store near the airport is gone so when going find the one further away and you’ll have no issues. The town of Freeport does close early so if you go to town go early in the day.

Absolutely Perfect!!!
The property was amazing...frankly much nicer than we were expecting. It is clean and well appointed and situated in a small village that epitomizes the Bahama experience. The owners Calvin and Susan are great and the local staff, they have on call for questions, couldn't be more helpful. The beach is the perfect balance of white sand and a few small rock areas that hold great critters when the tide is out. There is unique topography on the beach with a shallow sand bar about 30 yards from shore that makes for a perfect place for kids to play. We are already making plans to return next year!

Amazing Vacations
We were a party of 6 people, from 25 to 29 years old.
Everything went perfectly with Mike from the very beggining. Always available to answer my questions before and even after booking.
The house is really nice, we didn't use the boat because we were afraid of hurricane Erika.
Be prepared to drive nearly 1 hour from Freeport to the house, we didn't know it was that far, but the trip was totally worth it.
The reverend and his son were very nice to us, always available. Even let us use their wifi since ours wasn't working because of the storm.
Would definetely recommend and go back.

Beautiful home and beautiful area of the bahamas
This vacation goes down in my record book for probably the best vacation I have ever been on. The house was beautiful, the management personnel were great and easy to deal with, the beach and waters were breathtaking, and fishing was phenomenal!
I am a boat captain in Florida so I sort of know what I'm doing even though I was new to the Bahamas! We had fresh fish for dinner every night ! I would totally rent this property again! The only downside to the trip that has nothing to do with the property condition or the house is the horse flies so bring spray of there is one for them! Just some advice for anyone who goes to stay in the area but do not let it hinder you from renting this beautiful home!

AMAZING PLACE
We LOVE this place! I've been renting it for over 10 years - and cannot say enough great things about it. Amazing location - quiet, clean, and a great community. The house itself is like our home away from home! It's comfortable with the most amazing view! Suzannah is great to rent from, and how can you beat the views of that calm clean ocean? My husband and I actually got engaged here, so you can imagine how special this place is to our family.
What we love about it is that it's in a quiet secluded part of the island. if you're looking for rest and relaxation, this is the rental for you. Seriously, rent this place - you won't be disappointed!
There are a ton of fishing holes around, and great ocean life to explore - literally right outside of the house.
This is a great place, and I'm so grateful I've been able to rent it for as long as I have!

The description on the web site lived up to and beyond our expectations. A fabulous place to relax and unwind set in beautiful suroundings and with a property of supurb taste and comfort. The full length deck on the beachside was great. The sound of the ocean was always in the backgound and you can watch the sunrise accross the water from the lounge or master bedroom. There were also magnificant sunsets along the beach. The owner provided excellent customer servce through a local resident. The nearby local community provided a sense of belonging.
There are miles of unspoilt beach for beachcombing.
There are no resturants or shops nearby so it is necessary to plan for self catering with the supermarket approx 45mins drive. I would thoroughly recommend this rental.

Perfect get away!
I had for sure my best vacation in this house! Being from Brazil I'm used with beautiful beaches but this one was beyong all my expectations!
The house is really confy and well decorated inside, has everything you need, washer, dryer, etc. Outside there is a nice deck where I had my breakfast every single morning. Upstairs from the deck I was able to see the most beautiful sky at night, so many stars!!!
The car makes everything easier, not that I was crazy to go back to the city, but if you need groceries and stuff, the car is right at the driveway anytime! (it's agood idea to stock up with groceries at the city before getting to the house).
My kids had the most wonderful time, they really enjoyed playing with the boys from the settlement, everybody is really friendly here...
I would like to come back in the future for sure!!!
Thanks Mike and Karen!!!

Amazing + Relaxing!
This is my 10th year staying at this amazing house! This year we stayed for an extended amount of time, and as always it was just perfect. The house had some upgrades, which only made it that much better! We love this part of the island; the beach was perfect! We love staying at this house - and can't wait to return. Also, working with Suzannah is a snap. She is super responsive, and extremely communicative about the house and what every guest needs. Also - bonus here is that the house is wired, and the internet was working perfectly - which made streaming on their smart TV a breeze.

We LOVE this place!!
We love this place so much we asked to buy it! It's in an idyllic small village, with any easy drive to a city, but remote enough to be away from crowds and the hustle and bustle. The beach and the water provide magnificent views, and the fishing/diving/snorkeling are our favorites. The locals in Pelican Point are so friendly and watch over us when we are there.

Not Paradise at all
the place is out of nowhere. The house was extremely dirty and not ready the house keeper were trying to to laundry you could barely see through the sliding door that could not open. The deck was is very bad shape, the dishwasher was not working, most picture on the advertisement were from the house next door, the fabulous beach is nothing but rocks in front of the house. We did not stay there even one night. The other thing is nobody mentioned that Hurricane Andrew pretty much destroy the Island....Even though the island is beautiful it looks like 3rd world country.

We appreciate your feedback and we’re so sorry you were disappointed with the location. We do our very best to convey Pelican Points quaint and quiet location. We apologize that the cleaning service was still there upon your arrival. We have addressed the timing issue and have had no problems since. The sliding glass door has been replaced and the dish washer was newly installed but not yet hooked up yet which is why is wasn't listed in the amenities.
The ocean, beach and overall topography are unpredictable, it is nature at its best!
Unfortunately we cannot promise or guarantee that nature will cooperate for your visit.
The pictures listed on this site are of our home and the beach is directly in front with miles more to explore in either direction.
Hurricane Andrew was tough on everyone, but the island and its people have recovered.
This is a paradise for those who wish to unplug, decompress and enjoy the beauty of a quaint little fishing village, the local small community and the incredibly gorgeous views!

Safe...Secure...Sunny and SOOOOOOOOOOOO FUN !!
From the moment I started to communicate with Mike and Karen to rent this beautiful ocean front home, I was impressed. The settlement of Pelican Point with Reverend Freddy [and the other locals there] was very friendly. He is a true historian for the area. This made our stay just that much better. We spent hours beach combing, fishing from the skiff, swimming, and exploring in the Durango. To see where the Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed... too cool. Each settlement or small town had it's own charm as we drove to the east end of the island. True, you do need to pick up groceries, but the Rev. sent his son Freddy Jr.to pick us up at the airport, and after a grocery store visit we were at the house by 4pm. The weather was perfect and we were so lucky to spend 2 glorious weeks there. We ate snapper[ that we caught ourselves], lobster tail and had fresh coconut everyday. If you want to eat out, Bahama Johns is right down the beach. Dynamite Bahama MAMAs there, as well as Conch, Ribs etc.etc. So Yummy. We of course went to Freeport more than once for shopping, exploring etc etc. This was a breeze in the durango. We met couples from Toronto, and Ohio in the settlement staying in homes there too. It is so private and quiet there. If that is what you're looking for....it's the place for you. As I manage a busy Pre/Post/Recovery area in a large hospital and my husband is an Engineer, this was true Paradise for us. Thanks to Mike and Karen for being so easy and wonderful to work with. Karen and I have become fast E-mail buddies. It's been great.
Greg and I are already trying to plan for another mission there next year.
Sincerely...Cindy Barr

A beautiful place to relax
We spent a week at this home and loved every minute of it. My husband and sons fished from sunup to sundown everyday and my elderly mother in law enjoyed the deck and comfort of the well appointed home. I worked on my tan, bobbed around in the most gorgeous water of the perfect temperature and enjoyed long walks on white sandy beaches picking up one unique shell after another. I felt so relaxed and happy after our week at this heavenly place. If you are looking for a quiet, secluded, beautiful place to unwind and recharge, this is it! The Nichols are very nice to work with and we would love to return someday to this place.

Relax, and enjoy mango rum on ice!!
The home was comfortable and clean.
We loved the ocean water, and spent many hours just being in the ocean (warm and therapeutic).
It was so nice just to relax, and not worry, about anything.
My husband fished for red snapper, east of Pelican Point, the last town on the east side of the Island.
Caught, 5 to 6 red snappers, each time he went out fishing.
He had a great time.
As for me I just wanted to stay longer. (We stayed 2 weeks)
Our daughters got good tan!
Thanks!

Perfect Family Vacation
Within a few minutes of arriving, my boys were running up and down the beach with some of the local kids they became friends with. Normally, I have to twist their arms to play outside. On this trip, I couldn't get them in for meals. It was a great opportunity for them to connect with nature. In their nets, they caught crabs, shrimp, small lobster, fish, starfish, conch.....
The house is modern, with central air, tasteful decor and DirectTV.
Make sure you get everything you need in Freeport before you head east. Groceries and supplies are not available in Pelican Point.
