We like to gather up with our adult children and grandchildren from around the world in southwest Michigan every few years to visit with other local family members. This cottage was a perfect fit for us. Convenient location and well equipped kitchen with plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces for gathering for conversation and food. Enjoyed the lake, canoe, kayak and paddle boat as well as time around the firepit.
Fabulous home and location….lots of very comfortable places to relax and sleep. Gorgeous views….lots of host provided things to do. The only thing that didn’t work well was the internet for my work computer, but I was supposed to be on vacation sooooo 🙂
Very clean and neat. Plenty of space, beds & bathrooms. Kitchen had all of the necessities. The lake was great - we loved the kayak and paddleboat. Adults and kids enjoyed the billiard / table tennis too!

Pam, it was a pleasure to have you and your guests, we were trilled to share our property with you, such a fun group of people. Hope will see you soon again. Thank you for staying with us.
The cottage was extremely nice and very clean. We did have some difficulty with the front door lock pad and the basement sliding glass doors lock does not work. We were unable to use the paddle boat or kayak because they were full of water and way too heavy for us to move. Otherwise it was a great place to stay. Our owner was quick to response to our questions.

Our children, their spouses and their children joined us for a Labor Day weekend fun time. It was the perfect spot for all of us and they were in the water from morning to dusk. The owner answered our calls promptly and was very helpful,
Nice place and would stay again. Recommend improving wifi/tv service but would only make a good place better. Slept a group of 8 comfortably. Easy communication with owner. Nice setup. Thanks

Had college friends stay a long weekend. Right on the lake. Great canoe, floats, kayak and toys were provided. Fire pit was fun and we loved that plenty of chairs were provided. Having extra frig on the ground level and extra seating area down there was great. Everything was perfect and clean. Great place

Fabulous!
Everything positive said in the previous reviews is absolutely spot-on! We loved everything about our family vacation here: the house and its amenities, the lake, the pontoon, the location. The house is beautiful and equipped with everything you need from the gorgeous, well-appointed kitchen; to the "business center;" to the bedrooms, beds, and bathrooms which lend themselves to every family/group configuration; to the decks, pool table, and ping pong table; to the waterfront plus everything to enjoy it to the maximum.
We loved every minute, found the homeowner very helpful and easy to work with, and can't wait to come back!

Great vacation for large family!
We had a great time visiting Delton. The house was terrific! Lots of space for our 14 person family. There is a fairly large hill down to (and up from) the dock and steep stairs. The dock itself was a little hazardous, there were some cracks in the plastic, but it certainly didn't stop us from having a good time. Cell phone service at the house through T-Mobile was non existent though. But overall, beautiful spot and very nice home. The lake is weedy and muddy along the shoreline, but taking the boat out and swimming by the sand bar was great. The kids (2-10) had a blast fishing, tubing and swimming.

Thank you for staying with us. Sorry about the dock as there was little heavier people before you that did this to our dock and could not find that fast replacemnet parts. Hope you came back to visit us again.
Overall good property. Communication was great. I felt like there were a lot specific rules that did not reflect the condition of the property as we found it. I understand guests don’t always follow the rules but the owner/manager should ensure that the property is presented in the best light possible. The pontoon isn’t available to rent on site (that’s the impression I got), need to go through a third party which was a bit of a hassle. That part is neither here or there.
The house is spacious with three different levels. I would call it a 3-bedroom (master on the main floor, two others on lower level). The fourth "bedroom" is a loft with no door, however, there is a bathroom up there that could be used for changing, etc. The house was once "gorgeous" as described but is starting to show quite a bit of wear and tear from careless renters. The electronics (TV, DVD player, Internet) could use an upgrade. But, if you're just looking for a home base for exploring the area or to hang out with a group (we had 13 during the day and 5 overnight), it will work great. Beware of all of the fees that don't show up until you start the booking process, though.

Nice home and location, but...
This property is a relatively new home in a nice location. However, it seems like the owner is not interested in up-keep. We found many items that needed fixing, too numerous to list here. I sent a 2-page list to the owner. Most were minor, but the most troublesome ones were the broken places on the dock which is an unsafe situation, and the older dishwasher which didn't work properly. They need to hire a handyman to just go in there and spend a week or two just fixing things.
The furniture is old and needs replacing. Most of the beds are hard except for one which is too soft to use. The couch and loveseat are broken down and have many holes. There is a pool table in the pictures, but you can't use it because there are only 2 cues and they are both broken. They put a small ping pong table top on it, but the paddles need to be replaced too.
If you go, take your own towels. They only gave us one face towel and one bath towel per person and NO washcloths! And the towels they supplied were thin and raggedy. Ugh.
Kitchen supplies were also inadequate. Not enough detergent or towels, no potholders, trash bags that didn't fit the can, etc. It just makes you feel like the owner doesn't really care about your comfort.
The lake is nice, the water is clear, but the hill is an issue. One of our friends has a heart condition, and the hill was a bit of a problem for him. We rented the owner's pontoon boat, which I recommend. I would also recommend Hastings as a place to shop or visit. Many restaurants and stores, and just a cute little town. Our party of 6 had a nice time despite the challenges, but I still can only give this house 2 stars until improvements are made.

Dear Mrs Janet, I'm so disappointed that have found so many things not satisfactory to your expectations. As I recall, I have advised you of some problem with my dock due to some heavy weight people 2 weeks before you have caused damage. Parts are on back order and could not be there before you checked in. Dishwasher was not reported to be faulty so I had no knowledge of it. Now house is on hill as advertised and photos provided are clearly indicating that there are some light claiming, so you were aware of it and you should of told your guest about it. Your other complaints are dully noted and I will look into it this weekend. I have to say that you were not communicating with me I have sent you several messages after you checked in but you have not responded? Have you done so I would of make sure that most of your concern were addressed. Towels we provide and they are fairly new as we go thru them frequently and replace them when used up. Again if you just gave me a call or write and e-mail I would of provide you immediately with most other things of your concern.
We appreciate you as our guest and hope you will make it back some time in near future.
Thank again for your patronage.
Regards,
William
PS. As we concluded our weekend stay dishwasher was inspected and found no fault with its operation. There was ample of dishwashing detergent present.
Seats on love seat and sofa are still firm and comfortable and not soggy as suggested. Billiard cue's were replaced, new rackets and ping pong balls are replaced.
