Canyon Oak House: Private & tranquil home among the trees
Looking for a serene getaway in San Carlos/mid peninsula? Tranquil, professionally cleaned retreat with lots of breathing space perched among the trees in Devonshire Canyon, San Carlos, CA. Enjoy evening sun on the large deck, wake up to the birds in the trees or a family of deer in the garden. FAST WIFI. CLOSE TO 280 AND 101. We will consider pets (additional cleaning fee applies). The space The house is up above the street, surrounded by live oaks in a serene neighborhood in San Carlos hills. It feels like a mountain town but you are still only 5-7 min from 280 or 101 and a few minutes from downtown San Carlos, Redwood City or San Mateo. Also under 15 minutes to Stanford with no traffic. It is a great place to "staycation". Note, you will need to climb stairs to get to the house. Guest access The entire property is yours to enjoy for the duration of your stay, except the attic and underneath the house (you’re really not missing much there!). We also don’t permit people on the roof of the garage because it is not safe and we wouldn't want you to fall off, so please don't climb over the little fence.
Please enjoy the garden and trees. If you walk around the garden spaces, you do so at your own risk - it could be slippery and there could be hazards. We don’t want you to slip or fall or step on something sharp. Other things to note We have stocked the house with extra towels and sheets. We ask that you try and limit the number of towels and sheets used to expedite cleaning after check-out. You can launder as much as you need during your stay. We don't need you to clean on departure but due to current Covid 19 concerns, please contact us a day before departure regarding cleaning protocols so that we may coordinate cleaning and sanitization with our cleaning crew. Thanks!

I am so happy about this booking! Our hosts were very responsive and went above and beyond to make our trip comfortable. My mom and I came from Vancouver to San Carlos area for a horse show and couldn't have been happier with our stay! It has made both of us want to come back! The area is beautiful and has so many restaurants and lush hikes near by. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything you would need to cook for yourself or your family.

So happy you had a nice trip! Please come visit again. Safe travels!
Charming, homey, comfortable house on a small canyon street, nestled among the trees. The house is well equipped with just about anything you might need for cooking, there's plenty of towells, and it's a lovely little refuge. The setting couldn't be nicer, though I would point out that it's not for the weak-kneed -there are quite a few steps up to the house. I loved hiking around the neighborhood (steep windy streets) and you only have to drive a few minutes to be right in the lively, little pedestrian shops on Laurel St in San Carlos. Contactless Checkin and good communication with Host. Will be back!!
