A spacious gathering area features an antique wood stove on a raised stone hearth. The kitchen is ready for the gourmet cook. Infrared and charcoal grills and tables facilitate outdoor dining. You will find a collection of some of Montana’s finest literature in the library. The Querencia specialty is a warm and informal hospitality: Make yourself at home! A three-night minimum is encouraged.

The Querencia family can assist you with all of your favorite activities: hiking, fishing, scenic river floats, white water rafting, guided trips to Yellowstone Park, horseback riding. Fly-fishing on the Yellowstone River is a short stroll from the lodge. Guided fly-fishing, equipment and free fishing advice are all available.

There are numerous world-class hikes with every degree of length and difficulty (guides available) nearby or you can take a well-trained Lab for a walk. Upland bird hunting with trained dogs are available in season. Bird watchers will enjoy all of the western birds including very close sightings of Bald Eagles. After a day in the outdoors soak in the nearby natural hot springs and then retire to the sound of silence broken only by the wind or the river.

Querencia is a fly-fishing destination specializing in the spring creeks and freestone streams of the Yellowstone area. It is also a base of operations for exploring Yellowstone Park (36 miles to the north entrance at Gardiner), the Little Big Horn Battlefield and all of southwest Montana, perfect for singles, couples, family reunions or business retreats. Children and well-behaved pets are welcome. Kennels are available to guests.

Querencia Fly-fishing School: a custom three to five day course of instruction and guided fishing for beginners and intermediate fly-fishers. Everything you need to know to fish successfully and unassisted is included. Trips to the rivers and streams of Yellowstone Park, the spring creeks and freestone streams of Paradise Valley and the Yellowstone River are included. Trips to the Big Horn River and the Missouri River are available with experienced guides and boats.

Querencia Cooking School: a three-night stay includes the preparation of three gourmet dinners and breakfasts. Guests share the cost of ingredients and wine. Dutch oven cooking on an open fire is a Querencia specialty.

Pheasants, ducks and geese: Guided hunting with trained Labradors on the islands of the Yellowstone River is available in season.

'Querencia' is a Spanish word that is used to mean that area in life’s arena where one feels safe and serene. The word perfectly describes Querencia Lodge, perfect for you and yours.
