About this property

Homestead with Shenandoah Valley Views

Enjoy sweeping views of the Shenandoah Valley while you sip coffee on your private porch swing. Our freshly renovated lower unit sits on 5 acres of our cute homestead. Enjoy the garden in summer, fresh eggs, and the amazing views of the changing leaves in fall. The Shenandoah Valley is a perfect place for a weekend getaway!

We are a 5-acre homestead, complete with cats, chickens, fruit trees, and a massive garden. You are welcome to explore the property and visit with the chickens who you will likely see wandering around. We do have a rooster who is protective of his ladies, so give him a wide berth. We love showing off our projects and likely will have multiple outdoor things in the works while you're here, so feel free to come say hi and we will give you a tour of our outdoor spaces!

We will also provide you with fresh eggs for your stay. And we have eggs by the dozen for sale if you'd like to take some home!

There is also a working pottery studio on site! The studio is adjacent to the airbnb, so you may see me heading down there sometimes or hearing me puttering around the studio. I love to share my work and am happy to give studio tours if you'd like to come check it out. I also teach classes, so if you'd like to schedule a private class or join a workshop, please reach out ahead of time and I will send you the studio's info.

You will have full access to the one-bedroom unit on the lower level of our house as well as the patio area and firepit.

A few important details to consider before you choose to stay with us...

1. We live upstairs, so you will hear some noise. We are very careful to be quiet, but the soundproofing between the 2 levels is not amazing. You may occasionally hear a small herd of buffalos (ie: our cats) running around upstairs. PLEASE let us know if they are bothering you and we can contain them.

2. We have 6 cats. They are not allowed in the lower level of the house, so it remains relatively free of allergens, but we do share a vent system. If you are severely allergic to cats, this probably isn't the place for you. We can, however, provide an air purifier for anyone who would like it as well as make sure it is running for several hours before your arrival.

3. There is a working pottery studio next to the unit that shares a wall. There may occasionally be classes happening during your stay. If you are interested in taking a class while you are here, please reach out to schedule!

4. We are a working homestead so we are out and about in the warm seasons. We will give you your space, but you will see us around as well as some of our half-done projects.
