Tucked away down a quiet drive sits this three bedroom, two bathroom full-amenity cabin with back deck. Once used as the park ranger residence, this ranch-style home is now your family's quiet getaway and home base for all the fun you can have at Big Hollow Recreation Area in Des Moines County, Iowa.
Property features: one bedroom with a queen size bed, one with two double beds, and the third has two sets of bunk beds. Living area has couch, several chairs, TV and a view of the back yard and deck. Kitchen is a full use kitchen with stove, refrigerator, tables & chairs. Kitchen is stocked with all cooking utensils, pots, pans, cutlery, plates, coffee pot and toaster. Pets are not allowed at the cabin.
Also included is free wifi and private pond access.

We are Des Moines County's local conservation department. We've been providing outdoor recreation opportunities to residents and visitors to southeast Iowa for over 60 years.
Why they chose this property
This house sits just inside Big Hollow Recreation Area, one of the region's premier outdoor recreation areas. The 800 acre park features a 178-acre lake that offers swimming, boating, and great fishing. The park has over 10 miles of trails, an observatory, a shooting range, numerous other fishing ponds and campgrounds. It is the perfect family getaway destination park.
What makes this property unique
It served as the resident park ranger house for over 40 years. Following a recent retirement, we converted the residence into a rental cabin so visitors without RV's can stay and enjoy park and all it offers.
