Describing our American emblem, the bald eagle, author Maude M. Grant wrote “Living as he does on the tops of lofty mountains, amid the solitary grandeur of Nature, he has unlimited freedom…” Surely the majestic creature Ms. Grant describes was circling this beautiful mountain home. Eagles Landing sits high on Cabin Mountain surrounded by 15 acres of wooded splendor. No matter the season, visitors will enjoy the “solitary grandeur of Nature”. The open floor plan is highlighted with an actual wall of windows allowing unlimited opportunities for wildlife watching. Get a little closer to nature from the private outside hot tub where stargazing is practically a requirement. Inside the creature comforts are endless. Enjoy WIFI, a 50" HDTV flat screen TV with satellite service, wood-burning fireplace and well equipped kitchen. So much privacy and comfort will surely be hard to leave but easy to return to in any season. IMPORTANT UPDATE: If you stayed at Eagles Landing before it is important to know that the 2024 renvation included a new kitchen, family room, two more bedrooms and an additional bathroom Winter visitors please plan 4-wheel drive vehicles.

Very clean. Loved the open space and layout of the house. Loved the 2 fridges for our large group. The hot tub was great. It ended up snowing around a foot while we were there but they scrapped the driveway and roads. Make sure you have chains or 4wheel drive in the winter. Would definitely stay here again.

There was ample space and modern amenities for the kids to enjoy, including a fire pit and in-ground hot tub. Aside from a power outage that affected the entire neighborhood, we had a seamless stay at this spacious and comfortable house on the hill.

We even hosted a nice dinner while there. The only issue we had was the refrigerator in the kitchen was a little small and didn't have an ice maker. But that's literally the only issue, so we had a wonderful time. I was quite surprised with the double oven and the mesh wifi system. Great signal around the entire property. Love the smokeless firepit! We used it every night. Definitely renting again

WOW. the view is breathtaking!!! It was the perfect weekend getaway for hubbys 50th birthday. Girls Weekend Away

Booked this property for a weekend getaway with my three gal pals from college. We checked in Sat and did not leave this beautiful home until checkout on Tues. Great spot to disconnect from everything else and reconnect with friends. Hot tub was clutch on the sunny but chilly days of our trip. Recommend packing starter logs for the fireplace, however house has firewood split and stacked to keep the place cozy. The open common space with the wall of windows melds the indoor comforts with the outdoor beauty. Will rent again.

The additional bedrooms, bathroom, living space, and large well-equipped kitchen have added to its charm and beauty. One of the highlights of Eagles Landing is the wood-burning fireplace. After a long day of exploring, there’s something incredibly charming about curling up by the fire in the cozy living room. These touches make Eagles Landing feel like a true home away from home.The location, for us, has always been just right. It is close enough to all the fun activities but still tucked away in a peaceful gated neighborhood. We loved the outdoor space, viewing the stars at night, playing in the hot tub, and enjoying the seclusion and quiet. There is plenty to do in the area including cave excursions great shops for antiquing, and many great restaurants like the Smoke House at Blackwater Falls and the Hickory dining room at Canaan Valley Resort. Of course, for those winter sports vacationers, three ski resorts are only a few miles away from the house. For hikers and bikers, you will never run out of trails to explore, both in the valley and on the mountain. As always, we booked our stay through Best of Canaan Realty because they are fantastic! They are super friendly and always ready to help with anything we need, both before our arrival and after. The group of people that manage this place do a great job of keeping it clean and well-maintained. Honestly, this vacation rental was a dream! It was everything we could wish for and more. Amazing stay!

Beautiful house with everything you'll need. Clean and well laid out. Only item we found lacking was the outside fire pit. It's off to the side in the woods and poorly situated. There is not a second firepit as the add states. This was a minor thing though given the proximity to all the great things to go see and do in the area!

Eagles Landing - Canaan Valley

Great family trip. The house was wonderful, had everything we needed to relax and enjoy the week. The deck and Great room with windows overlooking the forest was amazing. The house is in a perfect location. Just minutes from Windy View and access to the Dolly Sods and a short drive to Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley. For a less strenuous hike the lake off Timberline Rd. offers a great view if the valley. Can't say enough good things about the Eagles Landing. We would definitely recommend for families looking to get away.
