I offer a very friendly, relaxing, comfortable and clean accommodations for those travelling in our scenic area. Located centrally between 2 main areas- Saint John the city and St. Martins the village, makes my spot a great place to plan day trips in either direction and return home at night for a very quiet and restful sleep.
I am about a 30 minute drive east of Saint John the city and about a 20 minute drive to St. Martins, the village.
Out in the country, next to the Bay of Fundy, on the Fundy Scenic Drive, New Brunswick Route 825. Garnett Settlement Road.
Gardner Creek, is the name of our wonderful little area, so friendly and peaceful and has some of the best views of the Bay and surrounding coastline of the area. From just about every window in my house one can look out and see the Bay because we are out on a peninsula which sticks out off the main coast of the mainland.
Lots of space to roam around outside on our property with gardens and decks and patios equipped with chairs and tables, hiking along our country roads is a favorite of our guests. Many attractions in and around the area in both directions. Sea caves, covered bridges, sandy beaches, seafood restaurants and lobsters sold on a wharf nearby, museums, shopping, water attractions, reversing falls in Saint John, Zoo, Golf, and your regular attractions that most places offer.
I am called a Tourist Home, /Guest House, because I do not live in this house which I rent out to guests. I live right next door in my own home. The guest have the house to themselves. Everyone has their own house key to come and go as they please and locks of coarse on every bedroom door.
It has worked out so well over all the years , people just love it. Having their privacy in the daytime and evening with their family and friends. Great for families travelling together like grand parents and their families.
I open my gallery and small store which is on the lower level of the house only on days that guests are not staying. During Covid times I am only open at my shop on Thursdays, Fridays , Saturdays and Sundays, from 1:00 pm. Store closes after 6:00 pm.
In my gallery I offer paintings ,prints and cards and different items hand painted by myself. We also sell antiques in the gallery. I have been painting since I was a small child and that wasn't yesterday!! Plus scooped ice cream when open.
If you have never been to the coast of the Bay of Fundy, you won't be disappointed. The coming and going of our tides is spectacular and the height that the water can reach is mind boggling. To see the floor of the Bay one minute and them look out and see how much it changes in such a short time makes people amazed. Living here all my life, it still takes my breath away to wake up to a fantastic sunrise over the Bay and then watch the colors reflect on the water in the evening sunsets. Just the sound and the smell of the waves crashing along the shores puts you in another place of peace and tranquility. I think I can offer some of the freshest salty air one could possible breathe .As you can tell I am a bit proud of where I live. You won't be disappointed I guarantee!
Whale watching is another popular event that people love to partake in and it is offered in an area just south of us along the coastal drive coming up from the USA. Sea Kayaking is another fun activity offered up in St. Martins. The Fundy Trail Parkway, is by far one of the nicest newer parks to travel through to see in New Brunswick it offers beautiful hiking and biking trails and for travelers going through in their cars. Breathtaking scenery and miles of unspoiled terrain to explore. A guest could spend a full day up there no problem or continue on their travels upto Alma where Hopewell Rocks are located. Farther up the coast heading towards Moncton area.
Come join us and live the Maritime experience while your on holidays.
Let my home, be your home, away from home!

We loved it here! Felt like a home away from home, felt like stepping back in time!

This was a great place to get away from it all and slow down together as a family. It was a great location and had everything we needed and more.

Atmospheric

The atmosphere and view from this old farmhouse is unbeaten. May is delightful to talk to about the history of the area and her family's long legacy. Homemade cookies and bread made it all even better! Conveniently located between St. Martin's and St. John so there was no lack of things to do.

Fiona changed our plans to get to stay in this lovely home

We didn’t get to stay here, we were so excited about it. We were making our way to Prince Edward Island, we had to change plans. May, the owner was always very communicative with me from the time I made the reservation, she promptly answered all my questions. I hope to try to make this trip again next year and stay at this beautiful place.

Wonderful property with a beautiful view

We stayed at this property for two days with our 3 kids. Our girls were giddy with excitement when they saw it for the first time "it feels like we are Anne of Green Gables". We had the whole house to ourselves and enjoyed sitting out on the lawn with a glass of wine watching the fog roll in and out of the bay. The breakfasts were wonderful and the place is a 20 minute walk to a secluded (rocky) beach where our kids spent hours looking and picking rocks and shells. When we went to the other larger rocky beach and sandy beach which are a 10 minute drive (or less), we were the only ones on the beach the whole day! The kids loved it and we would highly recommend this place to others.

Gardner Creek

If you are looking for a relaxing retreat overlooking the Bay of Fundy, this home is a great option! May is not just opening her home for guests, she is sharing part of her family history. After a long drive, it was nice to find homemade bread and cookies awaiting our arrival. The kitchen is generously stocked with spices, condiments, jams etc. We learned a lot about the area from May. If you time we would suggest a visit to St. Martin's to witness the changing of the tides and explore the sea caves. Thanks May, we highly recommend your home. Lovely stay!

We had a wonderful time here!! Beautifully decorated home with a gorgeous view. Great location-we enjoyed checking out St. Martins caves while we were there and had a yummy dinner at the restaurant down by the caves. House is clean and check in was easy. May is a lovely host-enjoyed chatting with her and she went above and beyond and found my kids football when we lost it in the bushes! She’s a talented artist and we enjoyed looking at her shop. She had a well stocked kitchen with staples for us to use for breakfast and had s’mores supplies which we used with the firepit. Delicious homemade cookies were there when we arrived. Would highly recommend this lovely home. Wish we could have stayed longer!! Thank you for the happy memories May!

Authentic Farmhouse Experience

May was a gracious host. Her place felt like stepping back in time, but not too far back ;-). So charming, but with all the amenities we could possibly need. Beds were very comfortable and breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay here again.

Bay of Fundy views and a country breakfast

Our group of four adults rented the entire house for one night while traveling through the area. It was worth the drive. May was warm and welcoming and even allowed us to prepare our evening meal when we arrived. This is a well-appointed homestead farmhouse full of charm and character. The full country breakfast was made to order and included homemade preserves and breads, eggs, meats, potatoes and beverages. The views overlooking Fundy Bay are stunning. We only wish we could have spent an extra day to explore the beaches nearby. Thank you for your kind hospitality.

Homey, large cozy rooms, very welcoming host

Wonderful experience. May is very welcoming, and went out of her way to help us out in a pinch. Large, clean, cozy, comfortable rooms. The entire home is artistically done. We had the whole house to ourselves and we loved it. May made us feel as if it was our own home. Kitchen is very large, and has everything that we needed- all utensils, dishes, refrig, etc. There was fresh homemade bread and other baked goodies. May offers breakfast and has a large breakfast menu. It was delicious. Stunning views of Bay of Fundy and countryside out of every window. Very peaceful and relaxing. I bought one of May's oil on canvas paintings of lupine to remind me of my stay in Gardner Creek. Our stay with May was truly a pleasurable experience. If we are ever in the Gardner Creek area again, we would definitely stay with May again. Loved it. Thanks, May, for your hospitality and your wonderful home.

quaint and scenic nature of the locale can't be beat

May's listing description regarding location, layout and amenities of the place was accurate. We thoroughly enjoyed the picturesque setting of guest house. In one of the rooms, we were able to see the sunrise over Bay of Fundy right through the window -- what a bonus! We had 5 people altogether, and we had the whole house to ourselves, which was great! May cooked scrumptious breakfast for us each morning. This was the first time we stayed at a Bed and Breakfast, so it's hard for me to compare breakfast with other places, but I doubt that other places can top May's breakfast. One person in our party had endless questions for May, but that didn't bother May at all. She chatted with us like we're her old friends. We learned a lot about the local histories, attractions, and many other things. I would definitely recommend this place to others. The only suggestion I would give to others is to have plans ahead of time for your dinner -- as the nearest place to grab a bite to eat or get grocery is Saint Martins, which is about 20 minutes away. So either plan to have dinner before returning to the house, or bring takeout or something to cook at the house.

A step back in time

To a simpler, more peaceful time. Love the antiques. Very pretty and feels like you are coming home. We stayed for 3 nights and rented all 3 rooms for ourselves and our 4 children age 5-13. May gave us great local information and directions to wonderful places to explore that we might have skipped past if we had not stayed here. We are so glad we did and plan to recommend this area and May's place to all our friends and family. The children fell head over heels for May, I think the younger ones would like to make her an adopted grandma. There were even some toys and movies in the little lounge upstairs. Her baking and cooking are amazing. We felt completely spoiled. You really couldn't ask for a better host.

Rosy and family

We loved this spot, clean, comfortable and very friendly - like we were staying with family. The owner went out of her way to accomodate our schedule, make us wonderful breakfasts and sweets and provide us with suggestions for touring the area. Our son felt like he had a new grandmother. The views were spectacular - some of the best I have ever experienced. Thanks May - hope to see you again soon.
