Beautiful property in the heart of Lawrenceville! Perfect for a couple looking for a weekend getaway. The host was wonderful ensuring we had everything we needed for our stay.
We really enjoyed this home. It’s beautiful and comfortable, with thoughtful design touches. Our stay there was very comfortable, and the location was perfect for exploring Lawrenceville on foot. It looks just like the photos, so if it looks like your kind of place, it probably is!
The property was perfect for our stay in Pittsburgh visiting our son. Gorgeous accommodation with everything you need. The neighborhood is vibrant with bars and restaurants aplenty! The host was easy to communicate with and responded promptly. Will definitely be staying there again and highly recommend!

Melissa was a fantastic guest, followed all the rules and treated our home with respect and care. She is welcomed back to stay in our home anytime!!! Thank you Melissa!!!
We were in Pittsburgh for the U.S. Open Golf Tournament and was looking for a place to stay convenient to Oakmont. Christopher's place was perfect being good location for access to the course and a great taste of old Pittsburgh. The property was very clean and modern with everything we needed for a great stay. Christopher was very easy to communicate with and was available anytime we needed him. We would recommend this property for anyone looking for access to the many attractions in downtown Pittsburgh and time in a quaint older part of the city. We enjoyed our time here very much.
Chris’s place is amazing! Perfect for 1 or 2 people and so nice. The location can’t be beat. It’s literally two short blocks from Butler street, where all the retail shops and restaurants are located. The kitchen is huge and has all the necessary amenities you need for cooking. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a very comfortable house in a perfect location! Can’t wait to stay here again the next time I travel to Pittsburgh!!

Thanks so much for choosing our home and being such a great guest. You are welcome back to stay anytime!
Great stay in the Burgh. This place is now on our favs list. Its' the perfect size for two people with great attention to detail of style and functionality. Also very close to restaurants and Penn Ave so you can walk if you chose but remember there are hills! Chris the host was very responsive to our emails and the back courtyard is a nice place to have a quiet dinner. We'll be back in the future.

The interior is as photos depict: modern, new, well decorated, interesting. A real top shelf interior design. Parking was a concern, and my initial spot was a block away; however that was 5pm Friday and spots eased considerably that by Saturday morning I was parked out front the rest of the visit. Communications were frequent, timely and helpful. I would definitely stay here again, Lawrenceville is great!

About the host
Hosted by Christopher James
A native born Pittsburgher, I grew up in East suburban Pittsburgh. I am a custom furniture designer / builder and carpenter now residing in East Texas with my girlfriend and three dogs. I’m also a musician and an artist of many disciplines, and enjoy traveling and the outdoors as much as I can get into them. Most of my interests are focused on design, architecture, and the interaction and influence of environments on everyday life.
Why they chose this property
When I purchased this home in 2011 as my first residence, Lawrenceville was still considered to be somewhat of a sketchy neighborhood from when it fell upon hard times after the steel industry tanked in the 1970s. A small group of artists, entrepreneurs and small business owners took a chance on the neighborhood at that time, which became the genesis of the renaissance that was to come.
What makes this property unique
Nestled among more traditional three-story Victorian row houses that are more common to the neighborhood, this unique one story building was originally built in 1901 and was first used as a cobbler’s shop. Over the next few decades it had mostly served as a corner provisions store until the 1950s when a family purchased it and converted it into a residence. Upon purchasing it 2011, it hadn’t been updated since the 1970’s. Having a love for older unique buildings, I was more than excited to take on the project of of converting it into the inviting modern space (my first home) that it is now.
