We love this beautiful spot and inviting home! The views, trail walks on the property and general vibe are outstanding. We've been guests for two years in a row and are eager to plan the next visit. If you are a birder, appreciate wildlife and tranquility, this place checks every box.
Beautiful scenery! Perfect getaway from the hustle & bustle of our normal working days. The hilly terrain was the perfect PT for our dog that had knee surgery last month. We had a very relaxing stay and enjoyed watching all the wildlife from the porch-barn swallows, deer, woodchuck, chipmunks, skunk and we heard couple owls-it was like home away from home.
What a great escape! We were visiting to see our daughter at a nearby theater camp. The property was a fantastic retreat! My husband and I have never talked so long in the morning over coffee. The front porch in the morning was perfect. Thank you for sharing your special space with us.
This was our second time staying here and we loved just as much as the first time. The property looks just like the pictures except the veranda flooring has been replaced and is even better now. It is such a peaceful property and we look forward to coming back!
This is by far one of the nicest and most beautiful homes I have rented. The house is so well kept and decorated and has anything you may need! The property is breathtaking and very quiet except for the bird and animal calls. If you are looking to get some peace and quiet this is your place.
Gorgeous property with a very responsive host and well-maintained spaces. Rooms were clean and very tidy, kitchen was well-stocked with cooking materials, and the house itself was lovely - great furniture and decor. The location is also great as it is not too far from hiking trails and towns like Ellenville/Woodstock. We could not have found a better spot for a weekend getaway. 5/5.
Alastair’s property is vast, beautifully groomed, and chock full of birds and other wildlife. The little swimming pond was a great bonus. On top of that, the home is very comfortable and well-appointed. We made good use of the porch, dining room, and living room in equal measure, and enjoyed cooking on the grill a couple of times during our 4-night stay. Thank you for a lovely getaway!
Beautiful, quiet property. Wildlife everywhere. Woke to deer on the lawn. Sat on the porch all afternoon. Our lab loved running all around the yard. Well appointed and comfortable. Will be back.
Warm and thoughtfully designed home on a beautifully landscaped land. There are so many places to sit all over the property to admire the views and watch the wildlife. It feels like you’re inside of a painting. Tons of deer, chipmunks and birds. Lovely that pets are welcome. Just what the doctor ordered.
Great experience, absolutely spotless clean.
Beautiful old farmhouse carefully renovated with modern facilities including kitchen and bath while maintaining the original farmhouse feel and look.
Perfect for quiet getaway and offering awesome views in any direction.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, the property had mowed walking paths for easy exploring, and the wildlife was absolutely amazing. We saw deer on the property everyday, there were beautiful birds, adorable little chipmunks and the views were stunning. It was a very comfortable, serene place to stay. The host was very timely with his responses to any questions we had and was very easy to deal with. We will stay here again for sure!
We had a wonderful four-day family vacation at this property. The house was clean, well-kept, and very comfortable. The setting is beautiful, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy nature. Our host was very responsive and made everything easy. We came with our two- and four-year-old children, and they absolutely loved exploring. They enjoyed walking around the property, sitting by the pond to watch the wildlife, spotting baby turtles in the water, deer passing by, and chipmunks running around. This home was the perfect mix of comfort and nature, and we truly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended!
I enjoyed sitting on the porch and looking at the beautiful views all around the property. My children had a great time floating and swimming in the pond.
The location is very convenient. The town of Liberty is only about 15 minutes away and has a large Shoprite.
The house was very clean and neat with an authentic rustic vibe.
We had a great time enjoying Alastair’s home and property! We cooked meals in the well-equipped kitchen, enjoyed the porch, pond, and walking paths, as well as a hike and a few runs nearby. My friend’s dog had a great time too. Alastair also has a great book collection. We were thrilled to learn that our stay coincided with the Little World’s Fair, just a mile down the hill. Definitely recommending this place to friends!
This place was truly magical. The house itself was spotless and as described, spacious and charming. The property grounds we amazing. Cute little paths everywhere to discover a new view or place to sit. My cousin and I visited to get a mental refresh without kids or husbands. This place certainly delivered. The views (in every direction) are breathtaking and the wildlife is plentiful. Now we can’t wait to bring our families. It is truly a blessing that this little piece of heaven is being shared.
We recently enjoyed a brief family stay at this lovely property. The cleanliness of the house was impeccable, and the view of the pond from the deck was incredibly soothing. We also cherished our time by the pond, observing the fish and turtles. The short walk up the little hill on the property, with sightings of bunnies and chipmunks, added to the charm. The tranquility and the gentle chirping of birds provided true peace of mind and filled our hearts with happiness. We are deeply grateful to the host for sharing this wonderful place with us. We loved every moment.
My daughter and I stayed at the farmhouse for a few days to hike the nearby trails. We loved the farmhouse and surrounding property! It was quiet and peaceful. The house was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. I slept in the smaller bedroom that had a skylight. I woke up in the middle of the night and looked up at the skylight and was amazed at the numerous stars in the sky! We also enjoyed walking the many paths on the property, the pond, and watching the vast array of wildlife and birds. We hope to return next year!
We loved the property. The grounds were beautifully manicured. We enjoyed walking through the property at the spectacular view and outbuildings. The front porch was magnificent sipping our morning coffee. The sounds of the toads softly croaking in the pond lulled us to sleep. My son enjoyed finding turtles. We saw deer, turkeys, rabbits, and chipmunks. The house was very clean and was well stocked. The deep soaker tub was luxurious and the upstairs 1/2 bathroom with its beautiful antique door was very convenient. We loved everything about this property and hated to leave. We plan on coming back in the fall when the leaves change.
