Rural retreat with a great location and modern amenities.

Great retreat with stunning views, great deck, garden pond, cattle in the pasture, on site walking trail, close proximity to bike trails and beautiful Cedar River. 5 minutes from St Ansgar and 10 minutes from Osage. There is a small kitchenette with refrigerator and small stove. The second bed option is a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room. Another option is a queen size air mattress. The room also contains a concrete storm shelter. Walk in shower with marble tile.

Wonderful Quiet Retreat!

This is a well thought out place in a very peaceful rural setting. Everything is comfortable and decorated very well. We stayed over Thanksgiving together as a family and enjoyed everything. Highly recommend!

Best Option in Osage

We had a wonderful time. Josh and Colleen were absolutely gracious and we enjoyed spending time on the patio together sipping our cocktails. We have made new friends in Iowa. Our stay was fun getting to know the family and their friendly variety of pets and the accommodations were clean, comfortable and modern!

My wife suffers from Dementia, and this property was perfect for her. She loved to sit on the deck and watch all the animals running back and forth and watching the sunset. The only thing more fun for her was to go out amongst them and feed them. Trails for walking all the way around the property made it more accessible. We even had a visit from a wild fox one morning, thankfully he went away empty handed. The County Fair happened to be going on while we were there and we spent the day learning and looking at pigs, or swine as they call them. Very nice property and nice part of Iowa, we will be back. Ugh O! just gave too good of a review, now everyone will want to go there, did I mention all of the flowers?

My family of four had the most peaceful and memorable stay on Josh’s beautiful farm. From the moment we arrived, Josh was an incredibly attentive, kind, and generous host who made us feel right at home.The property is absolutely breathtaking. We enjoyed stunning sunsets from both the master bedroom and the living room, spent hours relaxing on the flower-filled deck, and loved watching the farm animals roam in the distance. Walking the property’s trails was one of our favorite parts of the trip. Every turn revealed something beautiful—from colorful prairie wildflowers and majestic Highland cows to a charming treehouse, a peaceful pond, and cornfields stretching to the horizon.The atmosphere was so serene that I could barely get any remote work done because I was constantly drawn outside to soak in the beauty and tranquility. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.We’re already talking about coming back next year and making this an annual family tradition. If you’re looking for a place to truly unwind, reconnect with nature, and create lasting memories, this is it!
