Idyllic private cottage with large deck overlooking the ocean (Gulf of St. Lawrence - Bay of Islands) on the beautiful west coast of Newfoundland, south of Gros Morne National Park. 300 feet of frontage on York Harbour beach, sleeping cabin with private bath, double pull out couch. Wooden walkway over tidal pond. No neighbours in sight, just a splendid view of the beach, the ocean and the mountains. Abundant hiking trails such as Copper Mine Trail bicycle trail to Lark Harbour, fresh water and ocean swimming, fishing, kayaking, whale watching, Blow Me Down Provincial Park, all within minutes. 45 minute drive to Corner Brook, 75 minutes to Deer Lake Airport, 2.5 hours from the Port aux Basques Ferry. Close to Lark Harbour, Bottle Cove and Little P.ort. Swimming hole on the Blow Me Down Mountain trail is superb; hike or cycle the trail from York Harbour to Wild Cove Pond and on to Lark Harbour; Hike to Cedar Cove; Watch the boats come in with fresh fish, crabs, lobsters at the wharf at Little Port; Climb up Governors' Staircase to the Lookout at Blow Me Down Provincial Park; Take a day trip to Trout River, Rocky Harbour and Gros Morne Park. Location, location is everything. And this property had it in spades.Even though they're neighbors außer of the trees surrounding the yard, we felt like we were the only people there.

No cellphone coverage
The sleeping cabin was a bit musty. But we were the first group to use it this year. I think it would be a great summer place but we wanted to be closer to Cornerbrook, as we were going to Gros Morne also. We only used it for one of our nights and moved on.

Beautiful view and quiet area
Enjoyed our stay at this property. Excellent view of the harbour and topography. Very quiet area ideal for restful night after a long day exploring. Appreciated the information provided by the owner regarding the local hiking trails and businesses.
