Whatever the Season there's so much to see and do. Summer is for relaxing. There's so much to do in the Finger Lakes. But sometimes just taking it easy and relaxing is too good to pass up. Judy's Guest House is the place for this. Air conditioning inside, when the weather is too hot to venture out. A shaded patio with a propane grill is just asking for a Shish-ke-bob and a huge green salad.
Starting in June there is the firefly spectacular. The lawn, trees and nearby fields are alive with millions of flashing lights. Time to sit outside with a cool drink and just watch nature at its best. And there is always a great fireworks display in July.
Or grab a pole (make sure you have a license) and bring home a fresh trout or bass for dinner! Fishing is really great here and Cayuga Lake has hosted the Bassmaster Elite Tournament and Festival in past years. If you're not the relaxing type, here are just a few things that can make your summer come alive. • Cinemas • Antiquing • Horseback Riding • Museums • Live Theater • Boating • Sight Seeing • Finger Lakes Wine Trail • Kayaking • Fishing • Sailing • Swimming • Restaurants • Theater • Music • Trumansburg Farmer's Market • Cabin View Alpaca Farm -lovely Alpaca items for sale • Glenwood Farms Bison • Cornell • Ithaca College • Waterloo Premium Outlet with 100 brand name stores • Hector National Forest • Harris Hill Soaring Center • Watkins Glen International Race Track • Corning Glass • Night Life • Ithaca Farmer’s Market • Goat Cheese Trail • Newman Arboretum • Sonnenberg Gardens • Seward Museum • Harriet Tubman Home

Amazing place. Judy was fantastic and super inviting. Definitively going back to this lovely cottage again. The place is tranquil and surrounded by farms and wildflowers. Highly highly recommended!! -- The Nair Family
This is a comfortable house for a visit to the area. It is in a country setting, , between Cauyuga and Seneca Lakes, few miles outside of Ithica. Everything was within a 30 minute drive or less. Large yard, stream, island, lightening bugs and deer!

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you come again. We are very conveniently located for all the local scenery and attractions and there are many.
This is our second time staying at Judy’s cottage. Great location for our pups and very peaceful. Right between Trumansburg and Ithaca so a quick drive to anything. Judy is a gracious host, house is welcoming. Will definitely stay again. Thank you Judy!

It was great to have you back again, and while we can't control the weather, we'll do our best to make sure you don't get stranded in a snowstorm. Hope to see you again soon.
This is our 2nd year coming here. We love it so much. We are a family that enjoys nature and Judys guest house provides that from the lighting bug show at night and the stream to play in and all the birds its perfect!! We will be back again next year. Also its so close to everything!! If your not into bugs look for another place they keep in natural which we love but thats not for everyone.

Thank you for the review. Yes, we get bugs sometimes - usually an ant or two and sometimes a firefly will get in if you leave the door open. It's in the country and we never use any poisons at all. Your kids are safe, your dogs are safe and all the wildlife, including all those fireflies and all our wild birds are safe.
Excellent location nice and calm

Thank you for your review and I'm so happy you had a good time. It's nice and cozy in the winter but I hope you can come back when the weather is better and there are flowers and lots of sunshine.
Magical backyard! Loved how close we were to town but had a total country vibe. Beds were comfortable too

Host is pleasant and an excellent communicator. Beds are very comfortable. The house is not level and slants in some areas, like the bathroom, which brought on vertigo in one of my guests. Other than that, the location, the cost and the ability to bring our dog made our stay worthwhile. Thank you.

Thank you for the great review. This is exactly the type of place we aimed for - the kind of place that we like to stay in on our vacation.
Unresponsive host that I cannot recommend based on our visit. The heat was unreliable in bitter temps and there was luke warm water. We are very disappointed. The maintenance manager agreed that thermostat wasn’t working like normal but the host was not reasonable, responsive, compassionate or understanding of health safety issues at all! We had no choice but to leave the next day because the host did not offer any solutions for the unreliability of the heat and hot water issues in frigid temperatures. She was surprisingly unwilling to offer any refund to us to compensate the remaining days of our trip. We were there to celebrate Christmas and visit our daughters for the holidays. We’ve never had such a bad experience through Vrbo. Be careful if you choose to stay here. We strongly do not recommend it.

Almost none of this is actually true. The guest sent a text at midnight saying there was no heat. If he had called we would have come right away but did not find the text until morning. We immediately came over to find the furnace working fine. His wife said she liked to have the water at highest heat so we turned it up. Normally it is set a little below because we don't want anyone to be scalded. We would have provided space heaters in case there was another temperature issue but because there was a large snowstorm approaching their home his wife said that they needed to leave anyway to avoid the storm. We can't be responsible for winter weather. We have sensing devices that allow us to track what is happening there. It did show an 8 degree temperature drop at that time for a little over an hour but then came back up. The sensors also showed that possibly a door or window was open at that time. The previous guests and the guests immediately afterwards did not have any temperature issues and the sensors show that the temps have remained steady both before and after with that one exception. I did not feel that I should be responsible for a refund when people want to leave because of a snowstorm and choose not to notify me with a phone call but send a text message in the middle of the night.
Comfortable, Affordable Spot for a Finger Lakes Vacation
Judy's place is not fancy, but it is comfortable, affordable, quiet and conveniently located. we appreciated that our family had room to spread out, the beds were super comfortable, wifi was good and the water cooler was a nice touch. Thanks for a nice stay, Judy!
