About this property
The Artist cabin is a mountain cabin overlooking the sea and coastline
You will experience the real Jamaica, 5 miles up the mountain from the sea in a rural community at 2000 ft you will find 68° at Night and 85° in day , we have three acres of gardens and forest with two cottage .we call ourselves "kimoya's cottages" after my step daughter. I am an American married to a Jamaican and have lived here 40 years...I am an artist myself and have build the cabins as an artist , writers , meditation, nature lovers retreat. The cabins have their own kitchens a n d we also offer a full dinning experience of three meals a day for 30 US,,
Walking in the community can be quite entertaining as well as our nature walks. We are also less than two hours from Negril, YS waterfalls, Black River Safari, and Treasure Beach. There are route taxis that take you on an off the mountain, we also have our own vehicle which your welcome to jump aboard when we go to town or the beach. .We have a driver that will pick you up at the airport two hours away round trip 180 US.
To bring walking shoes/tennis shoes for the nature trails, also take along with you long sleeves for the cool nights especially after the rain and sleeveless for the daytime. You wont have to worry about local power company blackouts because we are off the grid .we use solar panels and a lithium battery bank, we also use rainwater from our cisterns . we have iur own gardens and what we dont grow our neighbors do. we also get local grown eggs , chicken, and even goat and pig when they butcher, w e buy our fish from the fisherman when they come to shore in the morning...we live in a good old fashion rural community with hard work in the daytime and a maybe little jamaican rum or cold redstripe in the evening at the local shops. We also have a handfull of locally built churches for those who feel the vibe on sunday morning.

Why they chose this property
I like the rural setting with cool nites in the high 60's and daytime in the low 80's and the friendly people, not to mention the spectacular views.
