This upscale, spotless log cabin home is kept in immaculate condition and is located very close to the West Virginia State Fair grounds and the Greenbrier resort with tons of outdoor activities, and the town of Lewisburg WV with its cool boutique shops and excellent restaurants. The cabin is located just minutes from Interstate 64 yet still retains a feeling of peace and seclusion. Make yourself at home in this brand new, cozy, beautiful, 3-bedroom cabin. Nestled in Allegheny mountains and atop the gated mountain community of the Retreat at White Rock Mountain, this property has it all for guests looking forward to a peaceful, relaxing time in the mountains. With 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds, you'll find comfort and tranquility in each bedroom (sleeps 6). The cabin features amenities like a hair dryer, washing machine, dryer, AC, iron, WiFi, outdoor grill, hammock for two, and heating. The 2 bathrooms are equipped with a rain forest shower and steady supply of hot water thanks to the Rinnai tankless hot water heater. The hall bath has a Kohler deep soaking tub. Hardwood floors and beautiful wood paneling throughout, the interior of the entire cabin is comfortably furnished in a grand lodge style. The eight foot covered porches on the front, back and side of the cabin are a great place to relax and take in the spectacular mountain views. Guests are also welcome to respectfully visit the community lodge. During the cooler months there is an awesome gas fireplace in the living room to enjoy. Whether you are exploring the nearby attractions of the Greenbrier area or simply enjoying the quaint surroundings, this retreat is the perfect place to unwind. Just 10 miles from the fabulous Greenbrier Resort to include golfing and 4 star dining, the cabin is located about 70 minutes drive from America's newest national park, New River Gorge and just 70 minutes from the Snowshoe Ski Resort. We will be happy to assist with any questions while you stay at our cabin.
Other things to note
Guests will be provided codes for front security gate and Lodge during their stay. All the roads leading up to the cabin are perfectly safe and easy to navigate. However, guests should always use special caution (and take things slow) driving up and down the mountain during inclement weather and foggy days. The roads can appear steep to the uninitiated but my 4 cylinder compact gets there and back easily. Please note that tobacco use of any kind is not authorized in and around the cabin and community lodge. No pets are allowed. While bear sightings are rare, please do not attempt to interact with them whatsoever. You will likely see lots of other wildlife up there. The cabin has great internet connectivity. Smart TVs in living room and two of three bedrooms. Desk with ergonomic chair can double for an office in the 3rd BR. TV streams Netflix, Max and several other major streaming channels. Allegheny Cabin is the perfect place to stay in wild, wonderful West Virginia. Perfectly situated and very secure you will love the cabin ambiance and lodge like feel.

About the host
Hosted by Charles Neimeyer

I live in Virginia right next to the Quantico Marine Base. I am a retired US Marine (LtCol) and I still teach Strategy and Policy seminars for the Naval War College on Capitol Hill. I love being a host because I want people to be able to enjoy the spectacular views of the Greenbrier Valley from 2800 feet above sea level. I also like for the cabin, which is new, to be enjoyed by people looking for a place to relax and unwind. You can't beat sitting on the porch with a glass of wine as the sun sets over the mountains or in the mornings with a cup of coffee when the sun comes up.
Why they chose this property
The Retreat impressed me right off the bat as a gorgeous planned community. The front entrance is especially impressive. The roads are all paved, and while they can be steep in places, I have never had any problems negotiating them in my 4 cylinder compact BMW. What I enjoy most about the neighborhood is the total peace that one has sitting on the deck with a drink or just lounging in the 2 person hammock on the back porch.
What makes this property unique
Solidly built on top of White Rock Mountain (approx 2800 ft above sea level). The raised covered porches give you the feel of living in a luxurious tree house with views between the trees that go for miles. It also has the feel of a grand hunting lodge. The logs are 6”x12” thick and the interior is richly paneled eastern white pine with wood flooring throughout the entire home. The grand stone fireplace is the centerpiece of the cabin and dark wooden beams that support the ceiling are especially striking. This place will make you feel right at home within minutes of arrival. Everything is on one floor and there is only a single step to the front porch. Easy and secure access on and off the mountain. Safe and secure you will feel like you are on top of the world here.
