We had a perfect week in Orient! The house was perfectly located for quick walks to the beach, coffee and baguettes every morning, and plenty of restaurants for lunch and dinner. The terrace was a great spot to have brunch every morning while our kids swam!

Beach and pool vacation

Very close to several excellent restaurants and stores. Really no need to rent a car. House came as advertised but do bring your own shampoo and body wash. House provided sample size products that only lasted a day or twofourourparty

great set up for large family or groups

We rented this as a family with 2 college age children who brought along friends, during New Years week. We used the lower level as our master bedroom to be away from the kids in the evenings. At first the lower level toilet wouldn't flush- so we contacted the house manager who was able to come fix it two days later. Not a big deal. Other complaints were that when we arrived there was only two rolls of toilet paper in the house for 3 toilets, and the number of beach towels was not enough for all 8 of us. The washing machine is small, like european models, so I was washing multiple loads of towels each day- and it took a couple days to figure out the machine. I would've brought additional beach towels had I known. We purchased two from beach vendors to have enough. Vincent was very responsive and emailed me the instructions and told me by phone how to use it. WIFI and cable TV in the house is very good, pool area is lovely, with a mermaid fountain! The house has plenty of glasses and dishes. We did not cook at all. We shopped at the SIMPLY market nearby for beverages and snacks and fruit. I enjoyed walking to the bakery nearby each morning for coffee and baguettes. Felt very safe in the area. The beaches are about a ten minute walk, and you do have to pay for chairs, more for the clubs closest to town, cheaper if you walk way down to the right. Our family loves going over to Pinel Isle for the day, about a ten minute drive to the ferry, and the water is calmer, less wind, and NO BEACH vendors or cruise ship crowds. We enjoyed having a car to go to Grand Case for dinner, and the market to shop, and once to Oyster Pond area for dinner. The nearby restaurants are nice as well, we just like a bit more adventure.

Nice Villa for a big family

Communicatoin with the owner was easy vai emails. Once we got to the villa, we were greeted by Philippe who helps manage the property. He showed us around the villa and showed how to use everything. We noticed right away that there weren't any beach towels. We let the owners know and more towels were dropped off the next day - we were happy with the speed of the resolution. The owners/Phillipe were also helpful with info about the island, food recommendations and setting up a private yoga class. They provided a portable crib free of charge and had it waiting for us upon arrival. The villa was as described and as appeared in the photos. Everything was in working order and we basically got what we expected. The villa is spacious inside and was comfortable for us with 5 adults and a toddler. The outdoor patio is really nice and big and we appreciated that it had a solid roof since it rained at least once a day. It was also nice to have a big table outside since we ate there daily and was good to have a separate sitting are out there. The pool was a good size and was a great bonus although we actually only used it twice during the week. Although the villa is well maintained, it looks like it hadn't been updated in a while and had a bit of a dated feel. It's a pretty simple villa so for those looking for a posh island experience, this isn't it. Travelers from the US especially might find it had a somewhat pared-down European feel (down to the mediocre mattresses so common in Europe :-)) It was a solid value and had the necessities. It could use a safe and a lock on the outer gate but it is in a guarded community so everything turned out fine. I have to note the kitchen was well stocked and there were lots of glasses for every alcohol type. It would have also been nice to have some beach accessories available like chairs, umbrellas and beach toys for kids. These were not promised to us so we didn't ask but would be a welcome addition to any beach rental in my opinion. The wifi at the house worked as advertised but expect it to be slow if more than 1 person is using it at the same time. It was walking distance to orient beach - 5 min approx. Unfortunately for us, orient beach was very windy and rough that week so we still had to drive to beaches daily. There is a plaza with a bakery, crepe shop, some restaurants walking distance too so it's nice to have options if you don't want to use the car.

Het is een mooi ruim huis, vlakbij strand, restaurantjes, supermarktje etc. Huis is lekker koel door de airco. De keuken is ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien. Je kunt heerlijk buiten zitten op de veranda en langs het zwembad. We hebben genoten.

Une Villa très appréciable

Merci pour votre accueil, pour ceux qui souhaite séjourner dans la BO française, le lieux est idyllique, effectivement à proximité de la plage et des commerce. Une maison fonctionnelle avec toute les commodité, merci aussi a philippe pour son accueil et sa réactivité , quelques boissons au frigo des notre arrivée, petite intention sympathique. Dans l’ensemble propre, si nous revenons, ce seras probablement au meme endroit.

Orient Village review

We had a very nice time -- Phillipe was responsive. He got us a coffee maker that was missing, tried to help us with the washer (we had a difficult time communicating with the French clotheswasher). The only concern we had was the home was advertised as having 3 1/2 baths but only had 3 so with 4 couples we were sharing a bathroom. Otherwise we had a very nice time.

Fantastic!!!

Our group of 7 women had a wonderful time at this home. This is a well maintained property with great proximity to the beach and restaurants. The owner was excellent to work with, answering all questions timely and providing everything we needed. Hope to return soon!

4th stay on island. This house has the best location!. walk to everything! loved that we could walk to dinner. travelling with 4-20something adults, this gave them the freedom to come and go on their own. house was very clean, though the couches in living room are quite dingy..otherwise - spotless. Pool was a real treat, also spotless! And of course having Wifi in this day and age is wonderful! Thanks for a wonderful vacation!

Great (extended) family vacation!

We just finished our first stay at this villa and had a wonderful time. Our family vacation comprised 8 adults so we made use of the whole villa both upstairs and downstairs. The villa is nice and clean and beautiful; the pool is clean and inviting and was used every day; the beach really is only a 5 minute walk away; the television had more than enough to keep some of the younger adults happy; and all of us used the WIFI with no issues. The kitchen was well equipped and had an induction stove which was a first for us and we used it often. There were 3 or 4 French coffee/pastry shops on the walk to the beach and we used them frequently. There are 6 or so great restaurants where we ate dinner on two evenings. There is also a very well stocked convenience/grocery store. The beach has great sand and bars/restaurants with clean rest rooms and chairs/umbrellas can be rented from several restaurants ($20 or less for two chairs and an umbrella). We grilled out at the villa twice and we drove to Grand Case (very short ride) on two nights - once to visit the much recommended LOLO named Taste of the Town and then another to visit a French restaurant (of which there are many). We completed every jigsaw puzzle we could find. We met both the owner and property manager and they were very responsive and helpful. Very happy with our choice to stay at this villa! HP

Beautiful Villa!

We just finished our third stay at this villa and as always, we had an amazing time! The villa is beautiful and we loved the new kitchen and other improvements (we were 4 adults and 5 kids). The pool is excellent and the beach only 5 minutes away with tons of great restaurants. The kids had a great time playing in the pool and the adults loved the outdoor terrace to enjoy an evening glass of wine. The owner and property manager are terrific - incredibly responsive and helpful. We hope to return again soon! It is truly paradise!!

Smiles from all three couples as we entered the property and saw the colorful patio and pool.

What a charming villa! The property manager greeted us upon arrival. The pool was sparkling, the sun deck large and all plants well manicured. We entered the villa and all bedrooms were excellent. Everyone commented on the comfort of the beds. The kitchen was well equipped and we had a washer and dryer. Although the villa had a nice dining room and living room; we found ourselves each evening sitting on the large terrace enjoying the view and having refreshments before going to dinner. The terrace had a grille and cooking area for the outdoor chef in the family on one end and a dining table on the other, but we enjoyed the couches with center table the most, as we sat and chatted about our day. As a home owner with a pool, I appreciated the sparkling pool water and the perfect upkeep. With just a few minutes walk to the village restaurants and beach; this villa was perfect! We enjoyed going for a short walk each morning for coffee and pastries at the nearby French restaurant. Vincent, the property owner, was quick getting back to us regarding any questions. Once the contract was submitted to us, it was very informative to protect the owner and the renter. We visited several VRBO villas before deciding on this one and are so happy with our decision. On our last day, everyone said "I am not ready to go back. I so enjoyed this villa. It was so close to everything." We will be back! Thanks to the owner and property manager for making our "vacay" a perfect trip!!!!

Great vacation spot

My family and I had a fabulous stay at the Caribbean Star this past January! The location is perfect- walking distance to the beach, restaurants (every meal in town was amazing by the way!), bakeries, and bars. The house is very comfortable. I think the porch was universally one of our favorite parts of Caribbean Star. We enjoyed morning coffee, happy hour and family dinners here. If you choose not to enjoy the beach we also had a few great pool days. We did rent a car which was necessary to get to a grocery store. I would recommend renting a car to explore the island and enjoy other nearby beaches- we often went to Gallion Beach, the kids beach. We will definitely be back to St. Martin and would return to Caribbean Star in a heart beat!

Amazing Villa!

We rented the villa with another family (4 adults and 5 kids) and had a wonderful stay. The rooms are large and well appointed and the outdoor dining and living areas were fantastic. We spent our mornings having fun in the beautiful pool and terrace area and spent afternoons at the beach which was only a 5 minutes walk away and close to a number of great restaurants. The property manager and owner were incredibly helpful and made us feel right at home. As well, the property was extremely private and safe. We stayed for a week and wish we had stayed for 2! We highly recommend this villa!

Beautiful Beach Villa

Stayed at the Villa Caribbeanstar for a delightful two weeks with my family. The veranda has beautiful views of the ocean, and Orient beach is less than a five minute walk away. We rented a car during our stay, but found that there were many things to do within walking distance - most of our time was spent enjoying the beach and local restaurants. If you prefer a more private experience, you can always bask in the sun next to the pool, and cook up some fresh seafood in the fully-stocked kitchen on the property. The villa is exceptionally maintained and very secure feeling - it really was like a home away from home. The owner was very responsive to our questions, and recommended places to eat and visit that we might not have found on our own as tourists. I would definitely stay here again - we're already planning our next vacation in 2013!

First visit to St. Martin

I stayed at this property for a week in June. Had a great time. The listing and fotos were exactly what I found when I arrived. The owner was easy to work with and very helpful. The villa is in excellent condition and very comfortable. Plenty of room for several people. This is the place you are looking for. Private, gated neighborhood with many nice homes. Orient Bay has everything you could want within a short walk and good grocery stores within a 5 minute drive. The beach is beautiful and has many restaurants and small beach bars. I was all over the Island but you could stay in Orient Bay and have it all. Shopping and entertainment in Marigot, a 15 minute drive.
