We offer a very relaxed, next to nature, homey setting that will leave you feeling like you never left home.

We are an eight-acre located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in the Arkansas River Valley of Howard, Colorado. At Black Bear Retreat, we offer a relaxed, quite, peaceful, natural Colorado Environment. A true Colorado experience. We`re just 12 miles east out of historic Salida, Colorado, with Twin Sister Mountains as a backdrop and stunning 360 panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains. The River is right across from us and there are numerous access points to get to the river.

*Please note that while we do have wifi on the property, high mountain winds and storms do cause occasional outages which are beyond the control of the property hosts.

At the time of booking a digital Rental Agreement will be sent out and must be signed before check in.

Just the Place for a Night

The cost for this room is as stated. No frills - bathroom was not very clean - both shower and toilet didn’t look as if a scrub brush was ever used, toilet ran excessively, which is so wasteful. Hard to clean or rinse the coffee pot without possibly breaking it - single cup Keurig would work fine instead of an outdated and horribly stopped up water reservoir
