We've stayed here before and found Loon Lake Retreat to be very relaxing and quiet with nice views. We like the fact we were able to bring our dogs with us. The kitchen has recently been remodeled.

It was a lovely lake front house. My son and I loved listening to the loons and kayaking around the lake.
Dock could use a bit of TLC!

Our family had a wonderful week on Loon Lake. The setting is breathtakingly beautiful, serene, and peaceful. We spent most of the week on the dock, listening to the loons and to the quiet. The house had everything we needed, inside and out, including the 3 kayaks, a canoe, and a rowboat. Couldn't have asked for a better getaway vacation for relaxation and family togetherness.

gotta love that porch
the back porch makes it! great to hide from the intense sun or rain. gates at either end keep kids and dogs in place. liked the double level dock, one on water and one further back to keep you out of wind. decent kayak entry. there is a preserved mountain lion that is a bit creepy. we would come back

Peace and tranquility
We loved our stay and particularly the seclusion and beauty of the setting. Just what we wanted. The cabin was comfortable and well stocked. The only reason we didn't give a 5 star rating is that there's some finishing work that needs to be done. Nothing big. But we would be happy to return next year and recommend it to you.

Upgraded beds
Nice upgrade to beds in all bedrooms. Comfortable House prep could have been better; petrified lime left in frig, previous occupants underwear and shoes left in back right bedroom dresser, deck near child table had pile of wood chips, upper dock not clean. Otherwise a pleasant experience in a peaceful environment. Would come back

Loon Lake is heaven
The cabin is wonderful except for the “in renovation “ kitchen- only one person could be in the cramped kitchen area at a time- although it was well stocked with everything you could need. Can't wait to see the renovation- hope the get rid of the island and open it all up!
Also, we were disappointed that the owner took up the dock before our stay. Again, didn't stop my husband from finding the oars and paddles and taking the rowboat and canoe out, but…….
Location, location, location.
We had such a nice time staying at this cabin. We are selling our house and needed to get the pets and humans out for the open house and this place allowed us to do that. But it was such a gift for us, the dock is the most wonderful place to just sit and look at the water or the stars. You hear nothing but winds, lake lapping and loons. There were multiple kayaks and canoes. The house is very lived in and relaxing. The only reasons it got 4 stars overall is because they put a huge new fridge in the kitchen, which was wonderful, but it creates about a 2 foot wide access to the stove and microwave. There is a sign that they are remodeling so maybe they have a plan to fix that but it was very awkward. The other reason is because right outside of the upstairs bedroom window there is a flood light. The bed is right under it and even with the blinds shut it is like you have super bright sun in your eyes all night. We tried every switch to turn this off and nothing worked. Overall it was lovely and I would stay here again for sure.

Nice and quiet
Beautifully serene. Love the fact that no motors or fireworks at Loon Lake. Makes stress melt away.
The cabin was simple amazing and exceeded our expectations! Every little detail was carefully considered and attended to at the cabin and added to a perfect vacation! There was more than enough room for our large family, and there was plenty for us to do. The locals were friendly, and we were guided to the perfect spot to watch moose at dusk. We will definitely be back for another visit!

Great Location!
Relaxing spot on a quiet lake. Loon calls (and loons) and no motors. Good spot for enjoying the view from the dock or deck or visiting local sites. Heater for chilly mornings. Small, but well-outfitted kitchen. Internet was good, but like most of the area, no phone service. A spot to really get away from it all.

Beautiful, comfortable cabin
This was our sixth time coming to Rangeley. We tried different cabins each time until we found Loon Lake Retreat. We stayed there last summer and loved it so much we returned against this year. It's gots lots of places to sit, whether it's in the sunroom, the living room, the desk, upstairs in the loft area, or out on the dock. The kitchen is also nicer than you'll find in most cabins. Loon Lake itself is quiet. Motor boats are not allowed, and half the land around it is a nature preserve.

Great cabin
This was our fifth summer coming to Rangeley and our fifth cabin. It was our favorite so far. Very comfortable and spacious with a nicer kitchen than most. It has a terrific porch and nice sunroom. There were lots of loons and we thoroughly enjoyed the pond. Would definitely stay there again.

Very Nice Place
Great location to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of a Maine mountain lake. The cabin was perfect for a family to unwind with comfortable beds and living arrangements. The porch was ideal for coffee or cocktail hour and enjoying the fresh air. The small boat had a slow leak but no matter, we caught fish as we were escorted around the lake by loons. If you are interested in staying on a quiet lake and enjoying mountain views then you should consider this cabin. The water entry was shallow and rocky in places but we managed to swim out to deeper water and sit on large boulders.
