About this property
Charming 3-bedroom cabin in wonderful Wild Horse Mesa
Escape to this serene 3-bedroom cabin perched on Wild Horse Mesa in Colorado. Surrounded by sweeping mountain views and roaming wild mustangs, this peaceful retreat offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and natural beauty. Starlink wifi is available, along with a washer/dryer.
Nestled in the serene and remote Wild Horse Mesa, this charming three-bedroom cabin offers a cozy escape for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. There are over 150 wild horses that roam the mesa and frequent the cabin. The horses are wild, but they are used to people, so you are able to pet and feed some. We keep horse treats in the kitchen. San Luis, Colorado is the oldest town in Colorado and is the closest community to the mesa.
The upstairs also has 2 day beds that each have a hide-away bed below, so it sleeps 10 comfortably. The upstairs has a pool table that can be converted to a ping pong table. There are board games and a gaming table.
The cabin is surrounded by snow-capped peaks, the cabin exudes rustic charm. It is a perfect get-away. If you have binoculars or a telescope you should bring it because it is very dark at night, so perfect for stargazing.
Many people come to the mesa and ski/snowboard at Taos, Red River, Angel Fire or Monarch. These locations are a short distance away and they are also a great place for hiking, fly-fishing, or ATVing. Some other attractions nearby are hot springs, the famous alligator farm, and National Parks and Monuments such as the Great Sand Dunes.
Our location is unique and remote. Because of this we have our water hauled in, so please note that the cabin comes with 1000 gallons of water, but additional fees (.25 cents per gallon) will apply for usage more than 1000 gallons. Special arrangements can be made for anyone staying longer than a week. If you are concerned about the water usage, we can text you the usage at the end of the each day.
