About this property
Tiny house on Ohio River cozy, relaxing, peaceful, fishing, kayaking, w/ hot tub
This is the perfect couples getaway! Arrive with everything you need for a few days then take a deep breath. On exhale everything not directly related to the river is turned off. Then mix and match the following activities on repeat….river and critter watching, drinks/cuddling by the fire, hot tubing, snuggling, napping, snacking, streaming...occasionally throw in some fishing, kayaking, and open fire cooking on the cast iron cookware.
The Tiny House is located on a 10 acre property that is bordered on one side by the Ohio River. There is a 3 bed 2 bath house on the property that is also listed on VRBO. Both dwellings share the same driveway. The property is partially wooded and has multiple privacy fences added to ensure guests at both dwellings have privacy. Tiny House guests have private access to the river via a short trail just off the Tiny House pad. The trail leads to a great place to fish, launch kayaks, and enjoy the river’s edge.
After signing a waiver guests may help themselves to the kayaks. They are available to guests at the tiny house or main house. First come first serve, please return when not in use.***Never leave them near the river's edge. Kayaks have been lost from waves washing them down river.
The property is located on the Ohio River directly across from Maysville Kentucky. In 2023 Maysville was voted USA Today’s best small southern town. It takes less than 5 minutes to get downtown from the tiny house. Downtown Maysville offers Russel Theater, Washington Opera House, Old Pogue Experience (bourbon distillery), a number of shops/boutiques, and many eating/drinking opportunities. Just a few minutes outside downtown you can find most box stores and traditional eating establishments. The surrounding small towns also provide many interesting things to experience, including former stops on the underground railroad, a piano factory turned antique shop, and the locals favorite, Ripley Boat Club. Ripley Boat Club is a floating outdoor restaurant where many people arrive via boat. In the warm months trunks and swimsuits are common attire. They offer a sports bar type menu and drinks. We love the laid back beach vibes of being on the water with the boats coming and going. No one there is in a hurry to do anything other than RELAX!
To get your stay started as soon as you open the door we provide 1 to 2 days of paper products, laundry pods, shampoo, body wash, and a few regular and decaf coffee pods. We hope these supplies will give you time to unpack the items you bring or purchase things locally to use during your stay.
There are many options for preparing meals using the provided appliances---two burner hot plate, microwave, propane gas grill, air fryer, toaster, cast iron open fire cookware. ***No traditional stove/oven
We also provide one bundle of firewood to use in the firepit. For your convenience we have firewood available to purchase. Firewood can also be purchased locally. There are a number of box stores and small businesses across the river in Maysville KY.
The driveway to the house and tiny house is shared. The Ohio river valley is a hilly place. The driveway is no exception. The steepest portion of the drive is paved. As the incline diminishes it turns to gravel. **If you are going east on 52 it is a sharp turn into the driveway.
This property is filled with nature. You will likely see deer, squirrels, lots of bunnies, even a very shy beaver! We subscribe to a professional pest control service, but keep in mind you are in nature. You will see and hear critters. The mild winter has caused an increase in stink bug activity in the area. It is very likely you will see a few stink bugs during your stay.
You will be sent an access code for the front door 48 hours before check-in.
** All guests must be 25 or older unless accompanied by an adult
**No smoking/drugs- Air purification cleaning charge is $500
**Maximum 2 guests
