This place must have the best view of Canandaigua Lake and the surrounding hills. The cabin is nicely appointed and everything we needed was on site. No complaints and we would stay here again.
Beautiful, cozy cabin with magnificent views. Cabin was well stocked and comfortable. Owner was very nice and great to deal with. Loved watching all of the birds and wildlife while relaxing on the large covered deck. Would definitely stay again.
This is a beautiful property, it was everything they described and more. The cabin is amazing, very clean, well stocked with everything you need. You just need to bring your food and your clothes! The views are amazing, awesome sunrises! You can sit for hours and just enjoy the view, we are looking forward to coming back! You will not be disappointed staying here!
My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing week at Canandaigua Lake based out of the charming Hemingway Cabin. We found the cabin to be comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed the front porch for morning coffee, afternoon relaxing and evening lightening bug watching! The view of the lake never gets old.The nature watching was great. David has lots of feeders and we enjoyed watching turkeys, woodpeckers, Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, and American Goldfinches. One day we spotted a Baltimore Oriole. In the evening, we heard Barred Owls and watched the bats fly around the field. We also enjoyed looking at the night sky. During our stay we saw the ISS go by twice and found several constellations. One night we watched a spectacular moon rise. The cabin is very near to the town of Naples, which has lots of places to eat. Some of our favorites were Old School Cafe (delicious breakfast sandwich), Redwood Restaurant (great for breakfast) and Naples Wood Fired Pizza & BBQ. We loved the pastrami at Lock Stock Bar & Grill. In Canandaigua we found Green Front to be superb. Just down the road from the cabin at Arbor Hill, we enjoyed their sausage platter for lunch. This was the perfect spot for a relaxing break from city living. Thank you!
We had a lovely time in the Naples area. We couldn’t have found a better place to stay. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The view and sunrise was absolutely amazing!
The cabin was nice, plenty of room, nice view of the lake and great bird watching from the deck. The kitchen was a little lacking on cooking utensils, but overall a very nice property.

Sorry, we will check the cooking utensils for anything lacking. Guests have not complained of this in the past 20 years. Thank you
The Hemingway cabin had everything needed for an extended or short stay in the Finger Lakes area. It was clean and well equipped with lots of homey touches. The view from the front porch is stunning and we spent our mornings and evenings enjoying it. We especially loved the private setting with no neighbors in sight. Highly recommend.
This cabin was a wonderful base for exploring the Finger Lakes area. The main room and deck have a beautiful view of Lake Canandaigua. The amenities were as described and everything worked fine. The property has a somewhat steep gravel driveway but our convertible got up just fine.
Beautiful view. Nice cabin feel. Lots of trophies to see. Had a rain day, the covered porch offered great shelter from the rain. Quiet!! Didn't want to leave.
The home was lovely and clean. Bring your own water. There is a well and can’t drink the water. Lots of birds and wildlife around. So very relaxing and beautiful! Worth the trip!
Easy check in, it was nice to meet Dave and get a tour of the house. The house is nicer than the pictures portray. Very clean. Enjoyed the view, huge deck, decor of the house, wildlife, campfires, quietness and the comfortable amenities. Perks for us: 10-15 minutes from the Naples boat launch, Grimes glenn, and Conklin gully. We brought a few gallons of drinking water, the tap is a bit sulfury. The kitchen was well stocked and we were greeted with fresh muffins. We will be returning for a weekend in August and September!
My mother and I stayed at the Hemingway Cabin for a Mother's Day getaway. David made communication simple and was very accommodating and met us at a local winery to lead us to the cabin and gave us a full tour as well as local recommendations in Naples.
The cabin has everything needed for a comfortable stay in wine country - David even left us a plate of muffins for the morning!
The view from the porch and the living room is amazing as well as the fun variety of wildlife to watch.
My mother and I were able to sit and eat and read our books surrounded by comfort and a beautiful scenic view!
Beautiful interior cabin. Very relaxing deck chairs to view a fantastic vista of the lake and mountains.
only problem is the water supply. Very strong sulfur smell in all the faucets that are very obnoxious. Owner needs to install a house-wide filter system to take care of that.
The Hemingway cabin provides a beautiful and serene setting. The house was well kept and had everything we needed. The view from the front porch and terrace is just spectacular -- we arrived at peak autumn color. The owner met us at a nearby winery and showed us to the house when we arrived. The driveway is very easy to miss. After he got us set up we never saw another human being nearby. We did see plenty of birds, small critters and deer. David's recommendations on where to go were spot on. As some reviewers have noted, the well water has a sulfur smell, but bottled water was supplied for making tea and coffee, and we brought along a filter/pitcher to make more.

Beautiful location, comfy house, great hosts!
We had a wonderful time at the Hemingway Cabin. David was a great host and provided all the information and support we needed. You absolutely cannot beat the view of Lake Canandaigua from the house, and we enjoyed meeting all the locals - deer, turkeys, chipmunks, a raccoon, a groundhog, hummingbirds and bats. Our teenage son took the bunk room, and we fully enjoyed the Sleep Number bed in the master bedroom. The kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfast every morning, and the couches were a comfy retreat at the end of the day.
We recommend Joseph's for in-season produce, baked goods and cheese, the BBQ restaurant and Bob's and Ruth's for retro charm. Favorite local hikes were the Cumming Nature Trail, Grimes Glen and Wesley Hill Nature Trail. We would come back to this area and this house in a minute!

In 10 years of renting our cabin Laura and her family are the neatness guests we ever had. I give them 6 stars. Good people!!
David was great in showing us around the cabin when we arrived, explaining everything. Property and wildlife were off the charts. Such a peaceful place to relax. Ohh, and then the view…priceless.

About the host
Hosted by David Catari
We have a wonderful location that we would like to share with others. My husband designed a great kitchen for me along with fabulous terraces with a fire pit. Our location is very suitable for folks who are looking for a relaxing vacation OR who are looking for some area exploration and adventure in hiking and boating.
Why they chose this property
We love the dichotomy of the mountains and the lake.
What makes this property unique
You can read a book on the terrace or in front of the fire - OR - go on an adventure to explore the mountains and lake. There is great hiking in the area at Grimes Glen or at High Tor.
