The good: The View is AMAZING! You can see whales breaching. Unit is quiet. Beach chairs, broken umbrella and rolling cooler provided. Washer/dryer work great (but loud). The bad: I hate to leave a bad review but I really wish I would have known these things before booking this unit. We have stayed in four different units in Kapalua so I feel I have a pretty good prospective on the area. The patio is nice, but you cannot see the sunset unless you leave the unit (Feb.), the neighbors bedroom is right there, and is shaded 100% of the time. The ventilation windows by front door and end of hall do not open, painted shut. You cannot open the bedroom blinds unless you want to give walkers and neighbors above a full view of your room. There is paint spray on all appliances, toilet, counters etc. Oven is propped up with 2x4 and food and debris line sides. No BBQ utensils available and the knives barely cut apples. The bed...so sad to say but by day 5 we had made "the pit" indentions with the hump in the middle.

Great Condo in the Kapalua Bay Area

Overall, we were very happy with the condo in the Kapalua Bay Villas. The condo is a short walk (less than 5 minutes) from the coastal trail with easy access to several beaches. The beach closest to the property is a great place to watch the sunset, but maybe not the safest for swimming. There are several other beaches within a 10 minute walk that are much better for swimming and beach activities. The condo itself was great for two people and provided very nice views of the ocean. The lanai off the master bedroom was slightly dirty and only provided a view of the parking lot, but the lanai off the living/dining area was excellent. The kitchen is small and some of the appliances did not work (the toaster), but it was enough for what we needed. Pay close attention to your food and make sure to secure it or you will attract ants. We have visited Hawaii several times before and never had issues with ants, but for some reason they were everywhere in this condo...even in areas where there was no food present. The property management company we worked with was excellent and provided great customer service throughout the trip.
