NEW INFORMATION: The property only sleeps 5 people comfortably
Welcome to Historic Dickeyville! Once a bustling village with paper and textile mills located within the Baltimore City limits, Dickeyville is named after the last mill owner, William J. Dickey. The Gwynn’s Falls, which once powered these mills, winds its way through the village and is now a scenic place for you to enjoy! Your home-away-from-home sits directly across from the Gwynns Falls river system and offers beautiful views of the surrounding 1,100 acres of natural forest. If you like serene, green habitats, you will love visiting Dickeyville. The property has a large mature perennial garden and front yard, with ample vehicle parking in front of the home as well as a pull in driveway for one car. The gardens are glorious starting in the Spring and provide for a lovely view from inside the home. The upstairs covered porch is a special place which to view the surrounding greenspaces and hear the sounds of the rushing water of the Gwynns Falls. I believe you will enjoy the serenity and country feel of historic Dickeyville, MD! .

About the host
Hosted by Mary Elizabeth Scarpa
Living within Baltimore City, I never would have believed there could be a park almost as large as Central Park in NY and contain the historic village of Dickeyville. Having always lived in cities, finding this space in the forest has turned city living into a nature conservatory. I hope this is something that makes you want to return to Baltimore again and again for visits to "the forest within the city", and the village of Dickeyville, in Baltimore MD. The House on the Gwynn’s Falls sleeps 5 people comfortably.
Why they chose this property
The home sits aside and across from the river called the Gwynn’s Falls. You can see the waterfall from my porch during the winter as there are no leaves on the trees blocking the view.
What makes this property unique
The uniqueness of the home is only surpassed by the historic village in which it resides. The village was created because a mill was built at the end of the road and the workers had their homes built by the owners. The mill and some of the house date back to 1775. There was a schoolhouse built for the workers children and is still a livable home from 1864.
