About this property
1815 Farmhouse with historical significance
Escape to another world in our historic property steeped in American history. The main part of the house was built in 1815, the year before Indiana gained statehood, on over 170 acres. President Andrew Jackson owned the house and farm in the early 1800’s until conveying it to his ward John Jackson in 1831. The house underwent a major renovation with additions in 1994-95, and a modernization in 2022. Nestled on over 5 acres, bordered by a stream on the East side and the Wabash River 500 yards to the South, you'll enjoy peace, quiet, plenty of wildlife and lovely views. Less than 2 miles away lies a park with a playground and hiking trails at Cicott Trading Post, which was an important French and Indian trading site as early as 1802. There are other historical parks to explore along the Wabash on the drive East to Purdue.
The Purdue campus is just 20 minutes away, and groceries, restaurants, and more are less than 10 minutes away. With 1 king bed and 2 queen beds, guests can enjoy a pleasant stay in this cozy retreat. Relax in the jetted bathtub or take a refreshing shower in one of the 3 bathrooms. Heating, AC, WiFi, and laundry facilities are available for your convenience, and the WiFi is super fast. There is a lovely gazebo on the rear deck with serene views of the orchard, meadow and treed ridgeline.
The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals, and we operate on the honor system: you are welcome to whatever food/drinks are in the refrigerator, cabinets or pantry. If you have non-perishable items at the end of your stay feel free to leave them as well. There is a propane BBQ grill on the back deck for your enjoyment as well with a large outdoor dining space.
The entertainment room features a large screen smart TV, ping pong table, dart board, and games.
Jackson Farm is a perfect base for those attending events at Purdue University, or just looking for a quiet retreat in the countryside.

We stayed the historically modern 1815 Farmhouse. The place was incredible with all the amenities you need to make your stay special. We took advantage of the ping pong table and dart board! Wonderful weekend!
Stayed here just two nights to visit our son at Purdue. Nicely updated house with everything that is needed. Great communication with the property owner/manager. Distance was a little further away from Purdue than we anticipated, requiring about 30 minutes to get to the heart of campus. This place is very isolated so be prepared to drive a while to get to anything. Overall very quiet and comfortable. We would stay here again if distance isn't an issue.
