Easy check in, right across the street from the train station, daily housekeeping, free coffee and 2 free drinks at check in from the bar. We had a great view as well and even got connecting a rooms. All the staff was very friendly as well!
The Pheonix Park Hotel is in a great location. We had easy access to restaurants, public transportation, and everything we wanted to see while in D.C. The rooms were clean, the employees were pleasant, and they were close to all museums and memorials.
Great experience! It was the best get away for our high school friends of more then 50 years. I
The property was amazing...great location and the staff was amazing. Very helpful and knolwedgeable about the surrounding area. I have recommeneded it to several people that will be traveling to the DC area this summer.
Very clean and comfortable. Loved the way these rooms are decorated. Friendly staff. The Dubliner is a great place for breakfast, dinner and cocktails.
Close to metro and a very walkable area.
This was in a great location and was a clean place. We felt very safe during our stay. We loved the restaurant that was attached. The 2nd floor area was nice to visit with family. Jerry was very helpful assisting with our luggage. Everyone working here were very nice and friendly!
Overall, a great property in the DC area. Close to the Capitol and the National Mall. Rooms were a little tight due to the age of the building BUT they were clean. Folks at the hotel were very helpful. Loved the 2nd floor coffee machine and the attached restaurant, the Dubliner.
You can't beat the location of this property. Overall, I was very pleased. Other reviews mentioned noise - depending on your room location this could be an issue. Earplugs were provided by the hotel.
While we normally stay in a more "traditional" VRBO, this was the best option for DC! We were a 2 minute walk to Union Station, where you can rent a car for the day or access the metro. You literally can see the Capitol from the front steps of the location and you are 1/3 mile from the Mall. We were able to walk to nearly all of the places we wanted to see, and if we couldn't walk, we could grab the Metro. It was super clean, staff was excellent and we would stay here again in a heartbeat!
We spent 4 nights in 2 rooms at the Phoenix Park Hotel. The location was great with Union Station just a block away. We used Metro to get from Dulles to Union Station then had only 1 block to walk with suitcases. Also there's a food court in Union station which was perfect for our kiddos. Staff at hotel was exceptional and the rooms were very nice. Not roomy but nice. We enjoyed our stay very much. Left some clothing items in a drawer in the room and one phone call had them returned to us within 2 days!
We recently stayed 4 nights at this property and it was exactly as advertised. Great location which made it easy to walk to sites or catch a ride for farther away places. There is also a bus stop nearby. We rented two rooms one was towards the back and it was quiet, the other was in the front and could be noisy due to traffic and sirens but that is to be expected with busy cities and the location and it didn’t bother us. There is an Irish restaurant on site and not far from many other options. Free coffee and tea all day. They made up the rooms each day and the beds were incredible! Would definitely recommend!
Excellent location near Union Station.
Traveling with a car, it was easy to load and unload bags with a designated space to pull up at the front of the hotel. (We've found this to be a challenge at other hotels, as so often in cities we have had to stop at the side of a busy street and manage the bags all while worrying about keeping the kids safe from traffic.)
The staff were helpful and friendly.
It was easy to self-park nearby.
Great restaurant attached which is open for breakfast and through late evening, plus free self-serve coffee/tea/espresso/lattes.
A really excellent way to save money on two well-appointed hotel rooms in the city. Fantastic value.
My family and I were traveling to Washington, DC over Spring Break. This is the first time I’ve booked a hotel through VRBO. The Phoenix Park Hotel is conveniently located by Union Station and the U.S. Capitol. It is an Irish hotel with The Dubliner, an extremely authentic pub, alongside its lobby. The Irish Prime Minister’s entourage just happened to arrive at the hotel at the same time as we did. It was an extremely exciting way to start our Washington, D.C. experience! The hotel staff efficiently took care of the Prime Minister’s entourage and then took care of us. We arrived the day before St. Patrick’s Day and we found out the Dubliner Pub is THE place to be on St. Patrick’s Day! It was crazy busy, but even so, the staff were friendly and our room which was located above the pub was quiet and the festivities did not hamper our sleep. Additionally, I would like to note our rooms were very clean with extremely comfortable beds. My family and I feel like we totally “lucked out” staying at the Phoenix Park Hotel and, if we return to DC, it will be our first choice for a place to stay.
