Incredible property and amazing hosts!!
We couldn't have scripted a better stay in the Rio Grande Valley and the Bryan House was the perfect space as an anchor for our adventures. Historic and filled with class this house and property took us back in time and made us feel like post-Victorian royalty. From butterflies to Chachalacas the outdoor greenery and secluded spaces made for incredible strolls and outdoor dining experiences. Can't wait to go back and enjoy it over and over again. Thanks for everything!!

Breathtaking Experience
My family and I stayed at this place because it had the space needed for hosting a family reunion for 25 people on Christmas Eve. To our surprise, this home offered much, much more. The outdoors is filled with nature - from the beautiful birds and butterflies to the beautiful greenery. The inside of the house is beautiful, quaint and spacious. Our host, Ariel was amazing. She had fresh eggs, granola and yogurt for us. Ariel even came out to the property the day of our reunion to make sure the grounds were well kept. If you are looking for a place that provides history and nature, this is a perfect place. We will definitely come back!

About the host

I am a happy Texan through and through, mother, master naturalist, artist, farmer and lover of history. I travel every chance I get. When this house came on the market, my husband and I recognized its beauty and importance to our community and American history. We have restored so than we can share it with the public and continue its legacy.

Why they chose this property

This is such a unique property previously owned by a list of interesting people. William Jennings Bryan is the most famous. He is and was such an important person in American history and I was incredibly amazed to learn he had a home here in Mission, TX. Bryan ran for U.S. president 3 times, was Secretary of State under Woodrow Wilson, U.S. Senator, orator, publisher, author, leading prosecutor in the Supreme Court Case the Scopes Trial. As a result of Bryan's important role in American history, the house was used for many years to market the benefits of farming in South Texas to northerners looking to farm and settle here .

What makes this property unique

This property sits on a lush corner of South Texas forest and provides a tropical feel to all those who visit. The wildlife on this small lot will surprise visitors with its beautiful birds and wildlife. The house is also decorated with interesting antiques and photos documenting Mission's beginning.
