About this property

Vermont Lakehouse Retreat

Tucked on a private peninsula with 180°+ of lakefront views, our 3-bedroom retreat is the kind of place guests tell us they don't want to leave.

From the moment you arrive, you're taken care of, so your worries can melt away as you experience true R&R the Vermont way. Your host (who’s also a holistic healer!) is quick to respond, easy to talk to, and genuinely glad you're here to experience what we’ve cultivated.

Paddle from your private dock, sweat in the lakeside sauna, or sip coffee on the deck as the sun rises over Sunset Lake, all just 25 minutes from Burlington.

If you're desiring something even deeper, expand your retreat experience with energy healing sessions and other offerings by your host + their community of holistic healers!

The space

Vermont Lakehouse Retreat is the real deal: a peaceful lakefront cottage where nature and thoughtful design meet, fully stocked and ready for you. Sited for maximum privacy and the widest possible lake views, the home was lovingly and fully renovated in 2021, down to the last detail. Whether it's a solo escape, a family week, a girls' weekend, or a brothers' trip, or just a much-needed shake-up from a monotonous routine, this place flexes to fit.

Comfort, down to the details

Guests consistently point to how comfortable this place feels. It’s not just aesthetic, but easy to relax in. Cozy nooks, soft linens, a hammock made for an afternoon nap, and a covered dining area for slow mornings and long dinners. Pack light: we keep the house abundantly stocked with blankets, body wash and hair products, Netflix, board games, and a fully equipped kitchen (gas stove, blender, waffle iron) so you can settle in fast.

Great for families, just as good for a grown-up getaway

Bringing kids? They'll have their own upstairs reading nook, a shelf of books and games including Magna-Tiles, and an easy first-floor bathroom with no stairs to navigate. The lake and the open outdoor space keep them entertained for hours.

Looking for a quieter adult reset instead? The private lakefront yard (complete with patio, grill, pergola, garden, and a lakeside fire pit) is built for slowing down, with the sauna and hammock waiting whenever you're ready.

Outdoors and on the water

Fish, paddle, or just hang out on the dock (life jackets provided). We keep 3 kayaks, 3 paddle boards, and a canoe on hand so the whole group can get out on the quiet, motor-free lake together. In winter, you're minutes from Cochran's (20 min), Bolton Valley (35 min), Stowe (45 min), Smugglers' Notch (50 min), Sugarbush (1 hr), or Jay Peak (1.5 hr). Ski all day, then unwind in the private barrel sauna as the sun sets over the water.

Location

Just 25 minutes from Burlington and Lake Champlain, and 25 minutes from the Burlington (BTV) airport, the location is close enough for convenience, yet far enough to feel like a true escape. Tucked in a quiet neighborhood, the home backs onto a private lakeside yard where you won't see another soul unless you want to.

A little something extra…

For guests who want to venture deeper into relaxing escapism, we offer optional personalized energy healing sessions and retreats, on-site or at our sister business, The Sanctuary (a holistic healing center in Burlington, VT with a full staff of holistic healers) Airbnb guests receive special white-glove service, so everything you'd experience at The Sanctuary can be brought right into your stay. Just message us if you'd like to add a session or build a personalized retreat!

We welcome up to 2 well-behaved dogs per visit (please inquire ahead with number, size, and breed. Dogs must be leashed when outside or crated when unsupervised, and waste cleaned up promptly.)

Good to know

The lake has a soft, muddy bottom rather than sand, so it's better suited to paddling than swimming. However, a town beach on Lake Iroquois is 6 minutes away if you're after a sandy spot!

AWD and snow tires are recommended in winter, and while the road is plowed regularly, it can get packed with snow. A shovel is on site so you can free your vehicle, and Central Service Towing & Recovery in Williston is a reliable local option if you ever need a tow.

We sincerely can't wait to host you,

Ash
