About this property

Overlooking 3rd Avenue - Sturgeon Bay Door County Condo

Location and one of a kind design! Beautiful 2000 sq. ft. 2nd floor walk up (26 stairs). Professionally decorated condominium with custom touches throughout. Our space is a well thought out blend of old and new with original brick walls and wood flooring wrapped merged with every modern day convenience you could need. The 15 foot ceilings and large windows create a sunny, spacious feeling and the condo seems larger than it's 2000 square feet. All the rooms are designed for comfort and ease. We have large communal spaces where everyone can gather together, but there are also small, cozy areas for quiet conversation, reading a great book or snuggling up to watch a movie. The condo has 3 gas fireplaces and an exceedingly well stocked kitchen. We have really thought of anything and everything you may need to enhance your stay. The building is truly in the middle of it all on the main avenue in downtown Sturgeon Bay. Just steps out your door you will find coffee bars, restaurants, pubs, shopping, theatre, music venues and 1 1/2 blocks away is the water front. No need to worry about how clean this condo is, it is immaculate. We pride ourselves on keeping a meticulous home. Linens are well cared for and ALL linens are changed for each guest booking, including the comforters. Ample clean white towels, bathmats, shower gel, shampoo/conditioner, and hair dryers are all supplied. We've traveled and rented homes for decades with our family and want to provide a happy, clean, comfortable and safe environment for others to enjoy. All we ask is that you treat our home with respect as any good guest would. We hope you''ll choose to stay here and enjoy all that Door County has to offer. Permit # 35562284

We live in Door County year-round and love it. It was a great place to raise a family and will be a good place to retire. There is so much natural beauty and the peninsula has a number of wonderful state and county parks and some really beautiful beaches. The downtown areas are charming, with galleries, shops and restaurants. We are fortunate to have a lively music scene and a number of excellent theaters. We really feel like Door County has something for everyone.

Why they chose this property

Sturgeon Bay is a great place to begin exploring all Door County has to offer. Because it has more year-round residents, restaurants and shops remain open here year-round. No matter what time of year you visit you will find so much to enjoy. Our location makes it possible for you to park your care and walk to just about anything. There's the farmer's market, restaurants, pubs/bars, theaters, movies in the park, music venues and lots of shopping. It's a safe and charming downtown area that you are sure to enjoy. Walk over one of the 2 downtown bridges over to the west side. Take in the beautiful bay and harbor. On the west side check out Kitty O'Reilly's restaurant and enjoy their lush patio and outdoor bar. If you are into up-cycling or rummaging for vintage finds you MUST go to Bayside Bargains. Get Real Cafe has clean eating options that are delicious. Stop by Scaturo's bakery for take away treats. Back across the bridge to the east side and 3rd Avenue we recommend Morning Glory by the Bay for a hearty breakfast. 5 and J is our Favorite coffee shop (on the corner of 5th and Jefferson). It's funky, has fantastic outdoor seating and a really fun vibe. Shopping along 3rd Avenue is a must. Stop into the Bliss Marketplace for some really beautiful items. If you are here on Saturday June thru October wander down to the Farmer's Market. The offerings are ever changing. Our favorite state and county parks are Whitefish Dunes, Cave Point both in Sturgeon Bay and Peninsula State Park in Fish Creek. Best beach is Whitefish Dunes. Take in a drive-in movie (in Fish Creek) and then go to Wilson's (in Ephraim) for ice cream. For a more upscale dinner try Thyme (Sister Bay) or Alexander's (Fish Creek). For a good water view restaurant try Donny's Glidden Lodge (near Whitefish Dunes in Sturgeon Bay). Once you book with us let us know your interests and we'll send you more recommendations and tips.

What makes this property unique

The combination of old and new creates a really unique yet comforting atmosphere. The We have always stayed in homes when we travel. We just aren't hotel people. They seem so sterile. We like to feel at home on vacation. Our condo's 15 foot ceilings and 2000+ square feet provides a sense of space and scale that just can't be captured in the photographs. (Guests consistently write in their reviews that it is better than the pictures,) The location is also a huge plus, being able to walk out the door and be at a coffee shop, restaurant, pub or boutique within 1-2 minutes. Also being able to sleep 10 guests comfortably allows for friends and family to stay together and enjoy each other's company in a way that hotel stays just don't allow for. It's homey, yet spacious so people can also spread out if they want to or gather in 2's or 3's in other rooms for quiet talk or to watch a movie or play a game. The 3 fireplaces also add that little extra bit of warmth on cool nights or winter days. I also think the fact that we really want guests to enjoy themselves comes through. It makes a difference. We have multiple people who come back year after year and I think it's because they know we care about their experience here. We really love living in Door County and we want our guests to love it too.
