Enjoy a beautiful wood fire from your bed…

Eleanor’s house is a renovated, private and very tranquil, stone house located right in the middle of southern part of Pelion, in the beautiful village of Lafkos. The house is situated centrally at 2-3 minutes walk from the traditional bakery, pharmacy, restaurants, mini markets, and the beautiful square of Lafkos. Lafkos is the perfect hub from which to discover South Pelion. From Lafkos a variety of beaches are accessible at a small driving distance as well as many day trip options (like Trikeri, Xinovrisi/Potistika, Pao beach, Mikro Beach, Vromoneri, Promiri, etc).

The house has two floors and calm outside terraces.

*On the ground floor there is a kitchen with solid olive/ chestnut furniture made by a local craftsman. The kitchen contains a cooking plate, a fridge (no freezer), a toaster, a coffee machine for Nespresso cups, a juicer, etc.

*On the ground floor there is also a modest size bedroom with two single beds (90x200).
The ground floor gives access to the bathroom with a spacious shower, toilet and washing machine (small loads).

*On the first floor, accessible by internal staircase, there is a, loft style, open space (32m2) that serves as a space to live as well as a place to sleep (queen size bed of olive and chestnut, 160x210).
The first floor is spacious, airy and very light. It has dimmable lights in the ceiling. From the two windows facing West, one can enjoy wonderful views / sunsets towards the ‘Pagasitikos Bay’.
Daylight can be blocked by closing the shutters. All windows (except for one) have mosquito nets.

*In the period of Oktober - May the two new (French) cast iron wood stoves (kitchen and first floor) can be used as a way of heating the house. Once the fire is established, it creates a wonderful romantic ambience and a slow radiating heat.
The first floor can also be quickly heated with the airconditioning.

-there is a strictly no smoking policy inside the house.
-Parking is possible at 150-200 metres walking distance, as, like most houses in Lafkos, the house is located in a uniquely pedestrian area.
-Pets are in principle not allowed (host is allergic to pets), exceptions can sometimes be made, send me a message please.
-Guests must provide a copy of their passports before arrival.

*Explaining the rental price:
The rental price, besides the VRBO commission and the costs of property management, is a result of the costs of taxation and of being compliant with the frequently changing legislation in Greece and includes (apart from rental income tax) - for example - “Climate Crisis Resilience Tax” which is set at 15 euro per night (irrespective of the number of people) in the period of March - October and 4 euro per night in the months November - February. All costs are included in the rental price. No further costs at the location (compare with other destinations…)

Pelion has a very attractive climate and every season has its own particular charm. It is even more magical outside high season. Enjoy the wonderful “indian summer” in November - December!

*Is Lafkos hot in the summer?
Compared to many destinations in Greece, Pelion does not tend to be very warm in summer.
Lafkos village is situated at a height of approximately 300 meters and the elevated parts of the village enjoy a wonderful fresh breeze on most summer days, creating a very pleasant temperature. It happens now and then that even in August one feels comfortable wearing a sweater in the evening.
This local Lafkos phenomenon is quite different from the experience in coastal towns like the closeby town of Milina, where airconditioning is necessary most of the summer, especially in concrete structures.
This stone house, properly used, almost never needs airconditioning and a light breeze from the standing ventilators on warmer days is enough to ensure a comfortable sleep.
Being a stone house with very thick walls, the house has a ‘sense of freshness’ which is often hard to find in modern concrete structures. The reason why the house nevertheless has airconditioning (installed in 2025) is to be compliant with Greek legislation.
