Had a little problem with communication in the beginning but as soon as I reached out they contacted me back immediately. Best time to go is definitely May (spring or fall). Description was accurate and we had an enjoyable experience.
We had an excellent time in the dome, we explored all around during the day and came back to camp. It was easy-peasy. No set up no tear down just show up with food and drinking water. Property has electric, propane heater and stove and hot water!
The listing does not do this justice. This is completely off grid. The toilet is not a toilet but an orange 50 gallon bucket. No air flow no fan. We didn’t actually sleep there once we arrived, and realized the bathroom situation, and there is absolutely no WiFi connection ben though the listing says there is. I’ll never use Vrbo again.
I will say it was a unique camping experience with beautiful scenery. Bed was decently comfortable and warm. I was very disappointed in the lack of communication. We never received check in or check out information despite calling multiple times, messaging and emailing. The cleaning lady looked at our booking info and left it unlocked since the host didn’t contact us. They also collected a 300 security deposit that was not listed anywhere on their booking information. I contacted vrbo and they said they also did not see anything showing a deposit. We had no instructions on how to use anything but figured it out on our own. Their “bathroom” was a bucket that you have to dispose of yourself. We believe the host lives on the property because they were out until 11p yelling/playing around the property. We were a little concerned that they have a stove and propane heater that both put out carbon monoxide with no ventilation other than the door. We didn’t sleep with the heater on to be safe but we were warm enough. I did enjoy the view and secluded property. It’s the only dome on the property which makes it slightly difficult to find but I’m sure if we received check in info it would have included directions. There is power but no wifi and 1 bar of signal in most spots. Needless to say, it’s been 6 hrs since we checked out and have still not heard from the host.
Not recommended during winter. I stayed here for two nights in January 2025.
1. There is just a small portable heater which will not at all fit for that size of property
2. Even if not the heater atleast an electric heated blanket would help. I am not sure why the host did not even invest 60$ for a heated blanket. When we were at the property the temperature was -6 C and we had to sleep in car for some time.
3. After the second night, while we were almost about to wake up, there was water dripping into the dome right onto the mattress. We had to gather our stuff and get out of it.
4. Did not receive any communication about the passcode and the extra directions required to reach the property until I had to call the number in the app.
The location was very good but the host has to think about providing some kind of equipment for heating during the winters.
