The house is exactly as described in the listing. Nina was very responsive and quick to address any issues. We arrived during a surprise snowstorm and she had the parking area cleared within an hour. Looking forward to another stay here soon.

Thank you for the positive review and glad you enjoyed your short stay. Yes, a foot of snow on Thanksgiving morning was a (nice) surprise.
We loved the cabin! It appeared to be recently updated, had a great vibe of both cozy cabin and modern-style, and provided everything we needed and more! It was very clean, bright, gas fireplace, nice porch furniture for outdoor seating. Nina was wonderful to work with - very responsive and welcoming. We took advantage of the canoe and spent a perfect afternoon fishing on the lake that is just a few houses down. There we saw a heron up close and caught two decent-sized fish. The fall leaves were gorgeous in late September. The local tavern was close enough to easily walk to but far enough that we didn’t see or hear the activity happening there. We had great food and service when we visited it - it was a convenient option if we didn’t feel like cooking. The stars were awesome at night. We’d definitely go back if we are ever in the area again!

About the host

Absolutely enjoying the decision to Host and allow guests in our completely renovated vacation home. Property was once a seasonal camp, very rustic. Now a year round comfortable getaway. Hope you enjoy your stay and feel rested and rejuvenated when you leave.
Why they chose this property
This location is ideal in our neck of the woods. It is next to the only restaurant/tavern for miles, so feels remote; yet it is 5 miles down a mountain road into the Town of Middle Grove (post office, Pizza place, Stewart shop/gas station) and another 5 miles into Saratoga Springs where you will be surrounded by history, horses, and health (Spas, Springs, Baths, historic sites, Race track). The home is steps from Lake Desolation, a spring-fed lake, ideal for swimming, paddleboarding, fishing/ice fishing and most importantly snowmobile lovers welcome to miles of Trails (Saratoga Snowmobile Association).
What makes this property unique
The home is completely renovated with all updated appliances, furniture, beds, USB/touch lamps and mirror. It's the perfect balance of rustic and modern. There is electric baseboard heating in all rooms plus a gas fireplace for those chilly nights. Outside, there is a gas firepit for romantic evenings or friends/family gathering.
