Waterfront Cottage On Buttermilk Bay At Indian Mound Beach

Four bedroom direct beach front waiting for your arrival. Enjoy all beach activities at your doorstep! Walk barefoot to the water!

The kitchen is open to dining area which is open to living room with deck and umbrella table with chairs overlooking the beach and bay.

Indian Mound Beach is a quiet private association beach and is not open to the public. Buttermilk Bay is a protected inlet that opens to the ocean near the canal and Maritime Academy. It's a great beach for families with children. There's a roped off swim area steps from the yard.

The beach house features an awning covered patio with a picnic table and gas grill. Washer, dryer, mini-split A/C's in each bedroom and the living areas, cable TV (Roku) & wifi all included.

The local area has everything the Cape offers without the traffic of the Cape and the bridges and it's all within easy reach for day trips when there's less traffic.

Reservations are from Saturday to Saturday. A limit of 8 people with a max of 4 adults. There may be flexibility upon request, please ask.

There is a pet free policy for those who may be allergic so pets are not allowed.

Discounts available for early June, early September and for multiple week reservations. Please ask for details. Also possible as a 2 bedroom winter rental.

Great location!!

Our family had a wonderful vacation and will definitely rent this house again! It was well stocked with kitchen items and comfy beach chairs! Loved being able to watch from the spacious deck or family room. Air conditioners worked great which made sleeping a breeze!

We loved this property and it was an amazing location! We had 5 children with us ranging in ages 2-12 and they all loved the beach! The house fit 9 of us comfortably. We will def be back next year! Jim was a great host.

nice area and cottage was neat and clean, directly in front of beach which was nice for kids. Kitchen supplied with everything you needed for the week, dishes, silverware, pots & pans, etc. This was our first time in that area, loved it and will be back. Wonderful place to stay!

We had an absolutely amazing time staying at the beach house for a week. You cannot beat the location. Spending the day at the beach with the convenience of the house right behind you was so nice. This house was very family friendly, our 16 month old was able to run around everywhere. I think my favorite part about the trip was sitting out on the deck having my coffee in the morning. It was very peaceful! Jim was very good about responding to any questions I had during our stay quickly. The house was clean and comfortable, with plenty of room for everyone. The 4 bedrooms are very spread out. Everything we needed for our stay was there. It was such a great vacation, we would love to stay there again!

Perfect location for a family vacation

This is 2nd time we have rented this house that is located right on the beach. The location is perfect for our family as well as our extended family who visited during the day. The owner is very responsive and the house was very clean. The house is close to Route 6, but it is so secluded. We plan to make this a yearly tradition going forward. P.S. If you are thinking of renting, you will need to bring your own dry goods (toilet paper, paper towels, etc...).

Great family cottage with the beach in your backyard

I spent the week here with my children and grandchildren. The cottage was was very spacious enough for all of us. This was the perfect place to relax, the beach was our backyard! The AC system was up to par as we had a really hot and humid week. We had an issue with the washing machine and Jim came over relatively quickly to repair the issue. Thank you Jim! The only unfavorable thing I can say is that the house could have been a little cleaner before arrival. Other than that, I will definitely consider returning next year!

Communication was great. Location was perfect. We loved the beach acces, but know it is shared and the getting in and out of the driveway can be a pain when the beach goers park in the way. The house is bigger than it looks. We had ample space. Everything was well stocked. Dish soap, dish washer and laundry detergent, coffee, and trash bags. Plenty of towels and pillows, which isn't always the case. We did have an issue with the dryer not working which the owner attempted to fix but we ultimately ended up going to the laundromat. We noticed the box spring was broken the first night and they actually ordered a whole new bed set!We realy enjoyed our time here!

Great spot

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our group consisted of a grandmother (me), a daughter and her husband, and their two children, ages 4 and 11 months. The beach was in our back yard, it’s great for little ones as there are virtually no waves, and the roped off swimming area is very shallow. The weather was quite warm while we were there but the room air conditioners were up to the task. The house itself was spacious and had an extra closed off ‘wing’ that was perfect for this grandmother! The kitchen was good sized, there are two bathrooms, one with a tub. It was close by to restaurants, shopping and activities, such as a go cart place and a water park. All in all, we had a great time, and the owner was very responsive and took great care of us.

Best vacation ever!

This was our 2nd year staying at the beach house. Like last year, we had an amazing time! The house is perfect for our 2 families (4 adults and 5 kids). I love that you have the option to sit in the yard or lounge on the beach, with the beach right out the back door. The neighbors were really nice and Jim was an amazing host. There were plenty of beach chairs, floats, and even a giant connect 4 game in the basement that we were able to bring out to the yard. The water was perfect for swimming or paddle boarding and the kids enjoyed the huge swing set right on the beach. There are plenty of things to do around the area (bowling, mini golf, pool, arcade) and lots of restaurants with delicious food. We ordered from Buzzards Bay Pizza the first night and ate out at Charlie’s Place the last night. We’re planning to book again here next summer and can’t wait for another amazing vacation. Thanks again Jim!

Vacation

The beach and the house were not what we expected for the price. We didn't want to use the bedroom located directly behind kitchen, because of the numerous water stains on ceiling. We were concerned about leak and mold. We had problem with lots of ants on counters and in our food. We also had a problem with the 2nd and 3rd burners of grill turning on, even though plenty of propane. We notified Jim about leak, ants, and grill and he responded quickly. He said roof was fixed last year, brought over new propane tank for grill even though that was not the issue, and stated he would spray for ants between renters, as we didn't want chemicals sprayed while we were there with the children. I also suggest that more than one hand towel be provided in the bathrooms, so when one is being washed, another can be used. There were plenty of bath towels. There didn't seem to be properly fitting lids for pots and pans. The house could be cleaned better before renters come in. There was the smell of urine in the bathroom and stale cigarette smell in back rooms. We have been renting near 25 years now in different locations, and this is 1st time I have left a negative comment.

Amazing vacation!!!

We had sooooo much fun on our vacation at the beach house. The photos do not do the house justice, there was so much room for our family to spread out. The beach is located right outside the back door and it was never over crowded. The water was perfect for swimming and during low tide you can walk out to sand bar. The neighborhood was quiet and everyone we talked to was welcoming and so nice. Jim was an amazing host and was quick to answer and questions we had. We’re definitely planning on renting again. Thank you so much for everything!!!

Family friendly property with great beach front location

This property was perfect for my family, baby and toddler safe. Plenty of room for 3 couples +1 and 2 kiddos. Additional family rented a couple houses down and we were able to host the whole group comfortably for meals. Jim was a great host and quick to respond to our questions. Would absolutely recommend and are looking forward to staying again.

Amazing beach front house

We stayed with 2 families for 4. Children ranging from 6 to 9 and it was perfect. The location is amazing. It made beach days stress free and relaxing. The kids loved swimming and exploring the shoreline. Jim was a great host! We would not hesitate renting again. The house has better views and is more spacious than the pictures. Each family had a "wing" so it offered plenty of separation if needed. The beach is your back yard...amazing!!

The beach hose sits on a quiet sheltered Buttermilk Bay that opens to the ocean near the canal.

The beach is private for the neighborhood only and is shallow and calm, great for kids and the whole family!

I grew up there and live right around the corner.

Why they chose this property

Indian Mound beach is perfect for a Cape Cod beach get-away. Relax with a perfect view and your toes in the sand.

The beach house is just a mile from the canal in Wareham and has all the Cape has to offer without the traffic over the bridges.

There's plenty to do in the area and shopping is nearby.

What makes this property unique

Beautiful views of Buttermilk Bay with the beach steps from your door. Relax and enjoy on the covered swing or the hammock!

There is classic knotty pine throughout for the look, feel and charm of Cape Cod while outside offers the beach and bay and sunshine.

Relax in the living room or on the deck and soak in the sights of the beach and bay. The beach house is "a little slice of heaven".

The sunrises are gorgeous! Blue herons often feed along the shore early in the morning and the ospreys dive for their catch in the afternoon near the river to the left.

Enjoy your toes in the sand and rinse off in the outside shower!

There are mini-split AC's in each bedroom and the main living area to keep you cool on those hot summer nights!

The yard is on the beach. You can't get any closer!
