Expect a refund and a scramble to find a hotel

Did not receive checkin info. Contacted host after the checkin time and they immediately cancelled my booking. Host alleges the pipes burst in the apartment and there was no water.Ok, so why did you wait until I contacted you after the checkin to cancel?Did the pipes literally burst the same second I reached out? Then why didnt I have checkin info prior.I dont believe for a second that the pipes burst. The host clearly was caught offguard by my asking for checkin info after the checkin time, and decided to cancel rather than scramble to get me in as they clearly were not expecting a guest. Why, I have no idea, but I can only blame the host.VRBO for its part kept me whole and covered the additional costs that I incurred by having to book a hotel room last minute.
