Tortuga Inn was an absolutely fantastic place to stay. We were visiting family in Port St. Lucie and debated staying closer to the beach, but I’m so glad we chose this house. It gave us easy access to family and Jensen Beach while also feeling like a vacation destination in its own right. The outdoor space was probably our favorite part. The pool and hot tub are exceptionally well maintained, and the tropical landscaping and nighttime lighting make the entire backyard feel almost resort-like. The nature preserve behind the house was an unexpected bonus—we saw and heard tree frogs, ibis, sandhill cranes, lizards, and other wildlife throughout our stay.Inside, the house is extremely comfortable and thoughtfully equipped. The bedrooms are lovely, there are plenty of towels and linens, and having a full kitchen plus a washer and dryer made a family trip much easier. The hot-and-cold outdoor shower was particularly useful after swimming and trips to the beach. Our teenager loved the shuffleboard table, and the retro Pac-Man machine became a family favorite. The house has a wonderful combination of classic Old Florida character and modern comforts, including TVs throughout the house and on the patio. It was comfortable, beautiful, peaceful, and genuinely fun to stay here. We would happily choose Tortuga Inn again the next time we visit Port St. Lucie.
