Simple and adequate
We were happily surprised that the apartment was more spacious than it appears in the photos. The rooms were large, with plenty of space and privacy for our family of 2 adults and 3 kids (2 shared a bedroom, and one child slept in the living room). It was nice to have 2 full bathrooms and washer/dryer for our weeklong stay. Kids loved the pools, especially the one that is oceanfront, and the location was a quick 10 minute drive to Kona restaurants/shops and convenient to beaches. As the photos depict, the decor is dark, dated and shabby, but weren’t expecting luxury. Our main negatives: kitchen came fully stocked with dishes but no pantry staples (not even salt or aluminum foil), so we had to drive to the store to purchase the very basics. The unit is adjacent to a golf course, so our kid in the living room was woken up every morning by sound of the lawn mowers starting around 7 am. Also, read the fine print: A/C is not included in the rental price (it’s an additional $20/day). I wish this was more transparent in the listing.
