Excellent rustic houseboat experience!

Check in was a breeze and the boat and surroundings are beautiful and mostly serene. Dont hesitate to get the fresh fish from next door at the marina! The area is very authentic to Puerto Rico, nothing fancy but thats how we like it. If your looking for all the comforts of home this may not be for you but if your looking for an authentic experience it will be perfect! The host was very reachable and took care of a couple issues we had while there promptly.

Relaxation by the Dock

First, if you are looking for beachfront...this one isn’t for you. If you are looking for a place to relax and stare at the water, the sailboats, watch stars at night, spend time with family and friends...then you found it. The town of Puerto Real has everything you need restaurants, grocery stores, bars, friendly neighborhood. If you want beach time, you can drive to nearby Buyé, Joyuda, Playa Azul and others. For breakfast, go to the bakery 1.5 miles NW from the houseboat. The house has everything you need to relax. No luxuries, just the essentials for a great relaxed vacation.

Excellent place for a relaxing vacation....

Boat house in excellent conditions, very clean and equipped. Just bring your clothing and personal items and you will be fine. Very quiet area to definitely have a relaxing time. Great experience!!!!!

Cabo Rojo Retreat

My wife and I usually visit the Cabo Rojo area once every summer and have stayed in different apartments/houses near several town, this time we decided to try something more relax and found this house boat option. The Pelican house is located in a fisherman village called Puerto Real which is great for us since we are seafood lovers, fresh catch served instead of imported frozen fish. The location of the house boat is also near Boqueron and Combate which are the towns with the most activities. We prefer to stay in Puerto Real since its a quiet town were you can rest at night but also is near the party towns, staying in Boqueron or Combate is sleepless nights because of the loud music and bars environment all night. We can only take so much party a night after we need to rest a little... Our favorite beach (Buye) is only 5 minutes from the house boat which was great for us, second best beach is Playa Sucia about 10 minutes away. Conclusion: we will repeat our stay next summer and will probably bring another couple or two. This house accomodates 6 people (3 couples with a room each). Rental car is a must to get to other towns and beaches unless you want to spend a lot of money in taxi not sure Uber works in this areas...
