Pretty traditional rustic style Spanish cortijo/cottage, eight minutes drive to the centre of Salobrena town and beach. The property is on a hill accessed by a fairly steep drive which makes for wonderful views of the Sierra Nevada and Mediterranean. There is a private pool with sun loungers, barbecue area, outside bar and terrace. Two bedrooms, one double, two singles on the upper level. Two bathrooms on the ground floor, one toilet on the upper level. Good access by road. Car is essential.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Cortijo ! The house was immaculate—spotlessly clean and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. The location is perfect, very close to town yet surrounded by beautiful, peaceful scenery. The pool was a true highlight—gorgeous, inviting, and perfect for relaxing or enjoying some fun in the sun. Suzanne was a wonderfully warm and attentive host, making us feel completely welcome and cared for throughout our stay. We couldn’t recommend this place more and would love to return!

We had a truly great stay in Salobrena. The villa was clean and tidy and the hosts could not have been more welcoming. Nice big TV with an HDMI for us to plug into meant we were well entertained but sitting outside looking at the view was just as good. The kitchen was well equipped with all mod cons and 2 fridges (we used one exclusively for cold drinks as it was really hot in July). The bedrooms and lounge have big ceiling fans that made all the difference in the evenings, and as most windows had mosquito meshes we could let the breeze in and keep the little buggers out :). The pool was really clean and clear. We were careful to shower before using it to keep the sun cream out of the filters which meant the pool was as clear on the last day as the first.I would thoroughly recommend this Cortijo and may well be booking again next year.

Nous avons passé un tres tres beau sejour. La piscine est tres grande et l extérieur sont magnifiques ; la maison tres spacieuse. La maison est est en haut des montagnes, la vue est magnifique et pas de vis a vis. Merci a Suzanne également 😊

Superbe séjour

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour dans cette villa où rien ne manquait. De plus celle ci est très propres ce qui est important en premier lieu. En ce qui concerne les aboiements des chien, cela reste vraiment ponctuel et les grillons couvrent parfaitement et chantent plus fort. Merci à Suzanne pour son accueil et le dialogue tout au long de notre séjour. Je recommande vivement.

Grundsätzlich ist eine schöne Finca mit einem super großem Pool, einer schönen Aussenbar. Die Vermieterin hat sich gut gekümmert, wenn Probleme auftraten. Der Pool ist während der Zeit trüb geworden, aber Suzanne hat sich gekümmert. Einzig und alleine die permanent kläffenden Hunde vom Nachbargrundstück trübten unseren Urlaub. Die Vermieterin sollte aber vielleicht nachdenken, ob sie eine Klimaanlage installieren lässt, die Temperaturen waren nachts teils bei 35 Grad Es war trotzdem toll…

Erholsame Tage in einem ursprünglichen Cortijo

Mein Mann und ich haben hier eine sehr angenehme Zeit verbracht. Da das Haus auf einer Anhöhe oberhalb des Ortes liegt, benötigt man ein Auto. In der Beschreibung wird dies leider etwas anders beschrieben. Dies war für uns aber kein Problem.

Remote but noisy

No one has mentioned the dogs. Properties and small holdings around the cortijo had them in abundance and the barking was more or less relentless. Across the valley was the motorway with a constant hum of traffic. The drive from Salobrena to the property is not for the faint hearted and the actual driveway from the road was a challenge. You wouldn’t find the property even with sat nav. The property itself was ok, rustic but the owner had provided all the basics like milk, water, toilet paper etc. The beds were very comfy, even the sofa bed. The property was well equipped with everything you would require for your stay. There isn’t air con at the property and although there are ceiling fans in most rooms they were just moving hot air around. Communications with Suzanne was very good, as our conditions from booking to visiting had changed and a glitch with tv was sorted within an hour. Views from the cortijo were great, sitting out on the front porch in the evening sun was a joy.

Buena casa y muy buenas vistas

A la casa no le falta detalle, y los anfitriones son muy generosos, todo espléndido. La única pega es que está alejada del núcleo urbano y el camino de entrada es muy empinado, requiriendo destreza al conducir un vehículo hasta allí y las camas incómodas, pero obviando eso, es una casa estupenda, grande y bonita, hemos disfrutado la estancia.

El alojamiento ha sido de gran gusto y encanto para nuestra estancia. Desde el principio la atención de los anfitriones se ha notado y las muestras de detalles por la casa ,de manera que hay de todo . Las vistas y la tranquilidad están garantizadas en un entorno alto y rústico. Nos ha encantado la piscina y la barbacoa , donde hemos disfrutado muchísimo con luces colocadas de manera que crean un ambiente especial por la noche. Por todo ello , Gracias Suzanne.

Très calme et super piscine

L'endroit est isolé et permet une vraie déconnexion tout en restant proche de la ville et la plage (en voiture). Maison très propre, en plus de la piscine, le barbecue et le bar extérieur nous ont permis de vivre des moments agréables. De plus la propriétaire, Suzan, est très prévenante et sympathique. Je recommande.

Ha sido un auténtico placer. La casa está a menos de diez minutos de la playa, pero lo que para nosotros ha sido ideal porque la tranquilidad y paz que se respira en la casa es una maravilla. Ideal para descansar y recargar las pilas. Muy recomendable!!!

Relaxed Holiday in Beautiful Surroundings

We had a lovely holiday at Cortijo San Bernado, mainly spent around the huge pool and BBQ/bar area in the private garden. Everything inside is well appointed and clean - two good bathrooms, decent bedrooms with ceiling fans and a kitchen with cooker, microwave and dishwasher + big fridge/freezer. Perfect for a family of four. A car is essential since the cottage is in a very rural area well out of Salobrena town and it's supermarkets. That said there are other houses and farms near to the cottage, bright lights of coastal towns and roads in view but this didn't create much in the way of disturbance, our kids were still by far the noisiest thing around! Suzanne was a brilliant host, answered all of my questions quickly, was really flexible about checking in and out and made sure we knew that she was only a short drive away if we needed anything, so there was no stress leading up to or during our stay at all.

Thank you Suzanne for allowing us to discover this place ! Our holidays was very nice. The view, the Spanish cortijo, the pool... Great stay in Salobrena. The way to get to the house is a little hard, but it's worth it ! The children were delighted ! Suzanne is a pleasant and willing host. We recommend this place which has a lot of charm. Thanks again

A Fabulous week!

Just a little note to say thankyou so much for the use of your villa in spain, we were there at the end of July 2010 for a week and had planned to explore the region, but ended up just lounging round the beautiful pool all day reading and relaxing, only venturing out for supplies. The villa had everything (and more) that we needed, although to be honest we spend all of out time outside in the new bar area. The views of the sierra nevada mountains was a pleasure to wake up to, as well as cloudless skies. A fabulous week and i would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to escape from the real world - many thanks again
