We were 3 families traveling to stay for the week. Shortly after arriving, we noticed the internet and TVs were not working. When we messaged the host, instead of beginning a solution, she denied the problem and said we had trouble connecting our phones. Not long after she did come by and finally confirmed for herself what we said was happening was true. Having just begun our vacation, I was understanding and patient, appreciating her coming around to trying to offer a solution. I let her know that I would be patient as she tried to solve the problem. As the days past, however, our plans were shifting with the weather, causing delays for our races, and frustrating us with an inability to watch the races that were able to take place on the TV. Some of adults turned out to need the Internet for work. Her solution was to wait for a new router to be mailed days later. This can be an acceptable solution (although she could have bought one), but nevertheless, it was an inconvenience for us. I reached out to her to ask her to contribute a fair amount for a refund for the missing amenities, and she got very defensive. I was dealing with a fair amount of other communication regarding our vacation (kids rowing at Nationals), so I did not appreciate the fact that she sent me no less than 50 messages within the week that we stayed there. It was a nuisance, it was not productive, and furthermore, she had no interest in, trying to understand how it was a major inconvenience to us.
