Very nice unit and location

We have come to this area each summer for over 15 yrs and have stayed in these types of unit and even houses. We enjoy the fact Shanty Creek is the middle of places we like to visit in the morning have breakfast and talk about where or what we want to do that day. And yes, we spent time at the beach area the sunsets are wonderful. The unit was just what we enjoy and like staying at....

Everything we expected

We are grateful for this property which is nearby to a family reunion. Everything shown on the website was exactly as we found it. For the size, there were so many nice features; stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee-maker, hair dryer. The AC cooled down the room quickly. The mattresses sank a little in the middle, but didn't keep us from sleeping well. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room other than to sleep and have breakfast; it met our needs nicely.

This 2nd floor condo can only be accessed by a 14 stair outside staircase, which is both VERY narrow and VERY steep to climb. Difficult for my wife w/ her knee replacement. The condo was "cutesy" to look at, but very tiny and poorly laid out. ONE full sized bed, ONE foldout futon. 3rd piece of furniture was leatherette sofa. NOT 2 queen beds, not by any stretch of the imagination. One chest of drawers-shoved into a corner, tightly next to the futon. Impossible to access much less unpack clothes into it. "Kitchen" was a cooktop (NO oven), coffemaker and toaster oven. NO infrared oven/stove. Fridge was a dorm fridge, fit almost nothing. We did not bother to unpack ice chest. Sinks drained very slowly, prone to backing up (both kitchen & bath sink drains plumbed together. Heat register in the bathroom was covered in a quarter inch of dust (so much for the daily cleaning fee we paid). A/C filthy & STANK! Before using kitchen pots, pans, glasses or utensils, ALL had to be thoroughly washed and degreased. Metal handle cuffs on several fry pans actually RUSTY. Steak knives couldn't cut BUTTER, much less meat, SO DULL. Finally just used my pocketknife to cut up the steak. Balcony was pleasant, light was burned out so at night we just sat out in the dark. There was no screen door, so couldn't keep balcony open at night (mosquitos and flies entered at will). The plus side--lots of clean towels, a toothbrush & razor. For 150 a night (net), stay at a Hilton, WITH breakfast!

Everything was as described. All was clean. Great place. Only downfall was another renter left their dog in a hot car for 5 hours and animal control had to get called. They were awesome as well in there response and dealing with a horrible situation in 86 degree heat.

Nice quite condo

Comfortable Suite Close to Vacation Staples

We enjoyed our stay here. It is a small suite, that allowed access to amenities at Shanty Creek Resort and the hidden gem was the beach on Bellaire Lake. It was fairly clean. Someone definitely smoked in the place at some point despite no smoking signs, because I could smell it. Only one stove burner was working and no can opener in the kitchenette. There were extra toiletries in the bathroom in case you forgot anything, which I appreciated. Overall, it was a good experience at a great price.

Good for budget

The walls are thin (we could hear all the kids talking/yelling in the next apartment and the downstairs tv). The bed is too soft for our preference and it is really hard to find a plug in a convenient place. However, it had everything we needed for a quick stay.

Clean and well maintained property

Stay was amazing. This property is small but the space inside is utilized to the best possible extent it can be. We are a family with a teen and two small fur babies and never once did we feel cramped or like we were ontop of one another. Check in and out process was very easy and the property managers were available for any questions
