Great View and Serene
Great, secluded and serene location. Healthy breakfast included and we had the view of the active volcano on our balcony. It is a bit of a challenge to drive on the gravel road, but worth it for the location. Rick and Katy were very accommodating and had helpful tips. We were lucky with the weather during our stay by being blessed with sunny skies and cool nights.

Ohne Worte - unglaublich

Beautiful hidden gem
What a fantastic place! So clean, friendly and serene. Also very responsive, responsible hosts. Definitely off the beaten path but was a good location for exploring the east Side of Hawaii and especially Volcano National Park. We stayed here for the first three nights of our honeymoon and enjoyed this stay very much. It was also our very first time using VRBO. There were a lot of extra nice pluses to our stay, including the ionized water, option to use the kitchen, and the host's kindness to meet us after check-in hours although we came in on a late flight. Another thing we liked was meeting some of the other international guests during the casual (but tasty & healthy) breakfast. The road to the place requires you to drive slowly so be sure to allow about 15 minutes of 5-10 mph. 4WD not necessary but in Hawaii there are many rocky roads so take it slow. High accolades for Celestial Sanctum and we would love to stay there again.

Guest Testimonials:

Here’s what Nicole wrote:

“We stayed there for four nights. My room was the largest suite with bath and part of the patio. The place is pretty close to everything if you wanna explore volcanoes. But make sure you get yourself a car with high clearance, the road to the house was kinda bumpy and it damages the base if you have a low clearance. Every else was just perfect. The hosts were nice and sweet :) ”

Here’s what Stephanie wrote

“Rick and Katy Joy are amazing hosts who took little moments of time to make our Hawaiian home so comfortable. Everything from the cleanliness of the room, light and delicious breakfasts, to personal inquiries about our ventures outside of the lovely Celestial Sanctum. They made us feel like instant guests of the family. Their home was the perfect location for checking out the southern coast of Hawaii. Kona, Hawaii Volcano Nat'l Park, Pahoa, South Point and Hilo. I hope we see them again!”

What makes this property unique

Volcanoes National Park is minutes away and offers active volcanoes to view and hiking the jungles and view the volcano craters. There is the great Jagger Museum and a viewing spot open 24 hours a day to see one of the active volcanoes.

One of the great things about our location is that we are close to an International Airport (Hilo) which is only 20 miles away. The weather is great! We are in the countryside but the nearest town is only a few miles away. Lots of open space on this beautiful 25 acre property and room to grow our own food in our greenhouse and the bountiful land. You can rent rooms in houses all over and the unique benefit of our Center is that we have an 2000 sq. ft. Gathering Room for Guests along with a swimming pool, sauna, Shiatsu massage chair and lots of fun things to do.

1.2 miles off Highway 11 in the Jungle so it is quiet and peaceful.

There is a fridge/freezer in each room and the guests have access to the kitchen for light meals like sandwiches and heating items up in the toaster oven or microwave. We provide coffee maker and tea.

We supply a healthy breakfast for each guest.

When you arrive ask to see our Guest guidelines and we have a liability release form to sign when you arrive and if you would like a copy ahead of time, let us know.
